“Haha, well played! Now look behind you, motherfucker.”

You turn around and see your toaster lassoing its power cord right before strangling you.

I keep trying gifs and they keep not working, but whatever. Couldn't help but think of the brave little toaster after I read your comment.

I spent like 5 minutes looking at the address and thinking why it would be funny, until I realized it really is just the dude's address. Oops

Wow, those channels go so inland that I’d take a day only to get to the ocean.

Had to click on the osm link first to get that joke. Nice.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 10 points 4 days ago (2 children)

I didn't get the joke. Pls help.

[–] saigot@lemmy.ca 36 points 4 days ago (1 children)

the coordinates are in Australia, which NA people often joke is upsidedown.

The coordinates lead to somewhere on the Gold Coast which is in Australia.
Australia = Upside down land

https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/upside-down-australia

Upside-Down Australia refers to a common online trope in which Australia and the situations taking place in the continent are represented by an image being flipped upside-down, typically within memes. This is due to the fact that Australia is the largest meme-producing country in the Southern Hemisphere, and with much of the Western meme community concentrated in Europe and North America, they jokingly perceive themselves as right-side-up in comparison to their Australian counterparts. This cliche also shares similarities to the belief that toilets in Australia flush in reverse.

I had a ... different experience

[–] bathroomconnoisseur@lemmy.ca 15 points 3 days ago (3 children)

"a pile of frogs lovingly stitched together" is this a reference to something I don't get?

[–] the_crotch@sh.itjust.works 9 points 3 days ago

I have no idea but it's the reason I posted that screenshot lol

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Building traditions vary a lot depending on the location.

[–] AlpacaChariot@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

I wonder if it has something to do with "frogs" in bricks - frogs being the concave indentation in the surface of a brick. "Stitching" kind of works with masonry as well...

[–] Dragonstaff@leminal.space 14 points 3 days ago

Sounds like you have decent privacy settings. Imagine sharing location data with ChatGPT.

[–] LanguageIsCool@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I tried it with Claude but it didn’t play along and immediately ruined the joke. Then I tried “updog” and it did the same thing. So I tried “uphomie.”

7 digits after the period in a lat/long? That is a ridiculous level of accuracy.

[–] gradual@lemmings.world 10 points 4 days ago (1 children)

If this is scary to ya'll, it's what happens whenever you give apps access to your 'fine' location.

[–] Simulation6@sopuli.xyz 3 points 3 days ago

7 decimal places is probably less then a centimeter accuracy. GPS probably has a 5 decimal place precision at best.

[–] Worx@lemmynsfw.com 16 points 4 days ago

OP apparently lives in "Surfer's Paradise", just outside of Brisbane, Australia. Neat

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 33 points 4 days ago

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 6 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I guess the dude's home is a hotel on the East coast of Australia. The coordinates point right to a Marriott a bit south of Brisbane.

[–] Owlboi@lemm.ee 6 points 4 days ago

atleast censor your address bro wtf

[–] don@lemm.ee 11 points 4 days ago

Oi, swank home ya got there, mate!

AI really hate my townhall, huh?

(Location data default of the middle of a city/town, IP address doesn't reveal your exact location)
