The recent arrest comes less than a year after Nathaniel Radimak was released from prison for the California road attacks, KABC-TV reported.

Honolulu police arrested a man with the same name on Thursday, a day after what police described as a road rage incident. A woman, 18, was parking her vehicle downtown on Wednesday when she saw a gray Tesla speeding past, police said.

(Nathaniel) Radimak, 38, was located in Waikiki on Thursday and arrested on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and assault.

Feel like the summary was missing the key detail as to why he was arrested:

The woman and the Tesla driver “exchanged words” before he got out of the Tesla and assaulted the woman and her mother, 35, who was a passenger, police said. The Tesla driver then fled.

This is horrible - thank you for pointing it out.

Sounds on point. Thank you for reporting the news!

Background story from 2023. Multiple violent incidents and steroids and $30K cash were found in the guy's car:

https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-02-01/tesla-road-rage-suspect-los-angeles-history-of-violence-threats

He was sentenced to 5 years in prison in CA but served less than 1, due to prison overcrowding. Apparently he was considered a nonviolent offender, wtf.

That last bit is also called “paying for a good lawyer”

I guess they are buying them!

What a fucking coward. It seems like he targets women. Hope someone plugs him.

Believe it or not, the punishment for assault is now execution.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

It's the risk someone accepts when they assault someone, fights can get dirty and you have no way to know how someone fights. You could attack someone who is well inexperienced and Incapable of properly defending themselves or you could attack someone who will bash your skull in on the nearest hard surface. That's not getting into the fact that some folks can and will effectively default to kill on the instinctual response to being attacked.

[–] Drunemeton@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If I’m ever attacked without prior involvement with my attacker the death match has just started.

Without prior involvement I have zero ways of knowing why I’m being subjected to violence, and my safest assumption is that they mean to kill me.

Therefore my entire life is now being measured in seconds. I will do whatever it takes to eliminate the threat and remove that counter from my existence.

Thank you for further illustrating my point.

It's a risk, yes. Acknowledging a risk is different than hoping it happens.

Folks wish for a lot of things that probably will never happen, wishing for something doesn't mean it will be inflicted upon the world. I wish Musk would be crucified using his own intestinal tract, sadly I doubt that will happen since it'd be easier just to blow his brains out.

If there is any bright side to america’s gun lunacy, it’s that shitburgers like this guy who go around assaulting women risk mortal danger for their outbursts. something tells me this clown would have plenty of self control if a large man cut him off…

[–] CobraChicken3000@lemmy.ca 14 points 2 days ago (2 children)

That's not very Aloha spirited of him

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 9 points 2 days ago

I'm thinking the whole world is needing a little boost in the collective Aloha Spirit coefficient, right about now.

transplants from the mainland. broken dreams once they realize hawaii is too expensive?

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (3 children)

How the fuck did he drive all the way to Hawaii??

[–] dan1101@lemm.ee 3 points 1 day ago

Not many people know it but all Teslas float and move forward in the water at a decent pace. I'm surprised Tesla doesn't let their customers know this.

[–] Thrydwulf@lemmy.today 4 points 2 days ago

All that hot air kept him buoyant across the Pacific.

[–] HellsBelle@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He shipped his vehicle over there.

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 1 points 2 days ago

I'd be pretty frustrated too if I were stuck in my car on a ship for weeks.

(Nathaniel)

Thank you for fixing the piece. The use of bare surnames with no honorific or given name is a terrible thing.

[–] Albbi@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 days ago

Wow, if I saw someone running toward me with a weapon like that, I'd be trying to use my car to smear them against the concrete barrier. That guy is nuts.

[–] blakenong@lemmings.world 4 points 2 days ago

It really needs to be more illegal to cover your plate like that

[–] solrize@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Thanks, that was informative. Appears to be 'roid rage behind the road rage.

[–] Goretantath@lemm.ee 3 points 2 days ago

And THESE are the asshats and idiots the autopilot is TRAINED off of! Who the fuck would want to trust the car with such a vile combo of brains in it?
