I feel like his comment is just setting the stage for overturning Obergefell v. Hodges. We already know that they want it overturned so this is just groundwork for the day when that happens.
FLY!
Damn, 3 hour old post and no one said FLY!? Ya’all need to be ducks more often…
I hate to say it, but within minutes of hearing about the attack by Hamas against Israel, the unexpectedness of it, and the scale of it, I asked myself, “Who’s funding this,” and, “Who gains by this?” And my brain replied, “Putin.”
Sure enough within days his puppets in our government (the USofA GOP) start talking about reducing/stopping aid to Ukraine.
It seems bigger on TV…
But how do you define "productive"?
I work from home and I get the same amount of work done. However if you define it as, "Doing X amount of work in Y amount of time," then yeah I'm less productive because nowadays instead of getting that work done in an 8-hour shift I take about 10–12 hours to do it.
Same work, same day, so my productivity hasn't changed. I just take longer to do it by taking breaks, going out to long lunches with friends, and my stress level is almost non-existent!
I find that to be a very equitable trade-off: Almost no job-related stress for a slightly longer working day.
It's important to note that the #1 rule of Misinformation is: Be First.
The information doesn't have to be accurate, verifiable, etc., it just has to Be First and it'll get repeated often enough that people will start to believe that it's true. "Oh Shirley, how can 'Biden Eats Babies' be wrong when I've already seen 18 shared posts on my wall this morning [Meta/Facebook] talking about it. I've received 3 e-mails from other family members talking about it. Why I even saw 4 articles on my favorite websites last night and this morning reporting on it. They can't all be wrong!"
Then when the truth tries to assert itself there's so much noise that it gets drowned out.
Mastodon gets better when you start following people by hashtag.
Account Settings > Profile > Featured Hashtags
Populate that area with hashtags of what interests you. Pretty soon you have people popping up that share your interests and you follow those that seem interesting.
I tried commenting on two videos yesterday and included links to topic-related websites, and they were deleted.
I checked the TOS and they caution about including inappropriate links in replies, but those weren’t that.
It seems the channel can include links but users can’t. Haven’t tested it much past that point either.
In an update, he said rate limits would soon increase to 8,000 for verified users, 800 for unverified and 400 for new unverified. About three hours later, he tweeted those numbers were "Now to 10k, 1k & 0.5k."
Well that’ll fix everything!
Stupendously sublime mate. 😍
