Don't forget the beardo wizard in the corner pulling a Heimskyr, ranting about Linux, while accompanied by a menacing looking hand drawn penguin holding a knife.
Please keep agitating. No one should feel comfortable.
Chief I don't know if you want the crowd that's still over there. I'm a recent migrant and it was getting bad. the average redditor just has a really shitty idea of how the internet should be
Don’t worry they’re all getting banned for thought crimes
Some people here really treat Reddit like their abusive ex lmao
I missed the origin of this meme, what a vid though! I really need to attend more city council meetings, and I definitely need to open any addresses to them with "'sup bootlickers?"
Me trying to be nice
REDDITOOOOORS~! COME OUT AND PLAY-AAAAY!
You call it antagonizing, i call it curation 😎
People who complain about gatekeeping forget that there are very legitimate reasons gates are put up in the first place.
alternatively: it's negging? :p
I don't know why we would ever want to bring redditors here. I think redditors should leave when they have had enough of reddits bullshit, and if they like the 'verse, settle in. Redditors who are convinced to come will tryta recreate reddit vibe that i deliberately left. Too many breathless debatelord milksops, they can stay in their reddit slophole
Sure, but we want more users as well. Redditors are likely to be fans of this format.
We were all redittors once...
Everyone is welcome here, it's literally stated in the description of the two biggest instances.
Right? And id like you to read my comment as it was intended: that redditors should come when they are ready, not be convinced to come just cause we made the jump and are feeling the pain of the difference in population.
Feel me?
yes, that's why I left Reddit, why would I want this place to become like Reddit again?
Guys cmon, look at this whole thread and have some self-awareness.
We've all got aspects of reddits worse qualities in our niche topics of interest, and the tribalism here isn't that much of an upgrade from the reddit hive mind.
We have no right or authority to gatekeep people joining, all we can do is give them the option and shove them from instance to instance until they finally settle on an echo chamber suittable to our/their weird tastes.
That exist in any social media, the issue with Reddit is the bots and the corporations changing narratives and antagonizing human interactions.
Yep. I'm fine with standard soc-med drama but i draw the line at literal anti-social behavior such as bots and corps.
Fuck. That.
I hated the AI ragebait that infested some subreddits. Most of the front page posts on AITA were AI posts after a certain point. You could tell for a few weeks since they all used an en dash — in the post. It’s not something most regular people would use, as a regular dash - is what most people do online.
I don’t miss the bots, the corps, the ragebait, and the bad actors. I’m thankful to have Lemmy.
They're not just suckering for ego. Don't get me wrong, they're not skipping that...
...That just sounds like their Alliance unite all the virtual balls under one rule so that everybody can be interfered with or ignored equally.
Tell me you know who that is.
Pulling that ladder up aye.
c/Politics being a bunch of very obvious reddit migrants who stand out like a sore thumb in every other community, including c/WorldNews
I don't know how they can remain so disillusioned with reality. Like every other post is obviously irrelevant ragebait but they keep it up
I'm not sure I can bring myself to create an account on that site. I can't listen to people whine about how difficult it is to pick a server. "ergmagerd, the choices I have to make are so difficult    why do I have to choose between a generalist, furry, lgbtq and tech server :tears: :tears: :tears:" and the "it looks like shit" people who forget how old.reddit.com looks like.
Nah I'm good.
old.reddit.com is still the only usable way to use Reddit. Whenever I find something in a web search that leads to Reddit, the majority of the content on the page is hidden unless I change the URL to old.reddit.com.
The fact that they've conditioned the majority of users to prefer the new site means it's not the place for me anymore.
majority of the content on the page is hidden unless I change the URL to old.reddit.com
There's a browser addon for that, btw! https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/old-reddit-redirect
doesn't RES do that anyway?
Maybe there's an option somewhere, but at least back when I installed Old Reddit Redirect, it either didn't exist, didn't work or I didn't find it.
It's the only way to browse some subs without logging in nowadays.
I was one of the people that didn't understand the decentralization until Reddit went pure enshittification and I had to get used to it. I know it's not so bad but it's just a UX thing.
I'm here now, so it turns out to be nothing but it can be confusing to users if it isn't clear what's going on.
Ninja edit: sorry, meme community oops

To be quite contrarian here:
When people whine about how something so simple is difficult, the appropriate response is to listen.
Mandatory instance selection as an active choice during the registration process is unacceptable friction unless we specifically intend to retard user growth.
But once we rope some new Fedifriends in and they start commenting and appreciating the site… hit them with the technical!! May need foster-parent instances to take burden of initial signup.
If the boot fits...
Lick it?
Is that your ingrained response to anything that fits? Because I've got some objects for you to look at...
you know, (con)sensually.
Good meme
I missed your power-user ass before refederation.
Just thought you should know.
Thanks, I guess? Not sure if ironic or not 😅
Hey, bootlickers, watch this!
loses every election for next 50 years
Can't say you didnt see this coming...
