He thinks he's the first guy to suggest cops reduce crime? that Trump is bad? Fuck me what moron

Always these sorts of insecure dweebs who do this stuff. Can't they see how pathetic it makes them look?

[–] DamarcusArt@lemmygrad.ml 33 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Hahaha! You're so right, you always make some of the funniest comments!

[–] DamarcusArt@lemmygrad.ml 21 points 20 hours ago

It's a bit of a cliche joke, but I'll allow it.

He thinks China's large population matters a lot for power politics. He is correct. But no so long ago, that population was seen as a dire crisis. Through central planning, China was able to pull the rabbit out of the hat, yank a huge portion of its population out of poverty, and establish a huge class of consumers to participate in the economy.

Matty wants a billion Americans, but what the fuck would America do with a billion people? Let them starve?

[–] Pentacat@hexbear.net 24 points 23 hours ago

Imprison them and put them to work.

[–] Sted@hexbear.net 17 points 23 hours ago

Just think of all the new slaves the prison system could have if there were a billion Americans though! It would be amazing for the economy.

Matty claims to supports private ownership, but he's very publicly owned right now.

Curious.

Hahahaha of all the posts he could have congratulated himself for he chose one that was condescending googoo-gaga baby talk.

Way to shoot for the fucking stars, Matty

Benny own-goaling himself over WAP is still great

Him saying "wet ass p-word" will live in my head forever.

It doesn't matter though. He could post a picture of himself with poo poo pants and one of those cool Kanye shirts and his "fans" wouldn't remember it the next day. Everyone wants to talk about how the internet is spying on us but nobody wants to talk about what it does to our attention span.

[–] Thallo@hexbear.net 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

nobody wants to talk about what it does to our attention span.

Actually, we talk about it constantly, but we get distracted and move onto something else.

[–] OldSoulHippie@hexbear.net 8 points 23 hours ago

I guess, but I'm not sure what that has to do with Garfield.

Shit.

"Yglesias can't win with these cats." - Matt Yglesias

[–] falgscode@hexbear.net 9 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I forgot can't win with these cats was on the burner, lmao

[–] Wertheimer@hexbear.net 9 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

We can also go with "Matt Yglesias has normal-sized thoughts, find a new slant"

[–] falgscode@hexbear.net 9 points 22 hours ago

even better lmao

power politics

Uh, what are the other kinds of politics, the ones that are not about power?

[–] context@hexbear.net 4 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

maybe-later-honey uh, politics should be about sensible policies, not power

[–] keepcarrot@hexbear.net 2 points 16 hours ago

I feel like if you don't use the negotiations of power definition, you wind up having a very... Hazy understanding of politics. Like, you imagine that its to do with parliament adjusting the fuel excise tax policy 3 years from now to encourage lower emissions, and an endless debate around that and other equally boring (and ineffective) things.

[–] EstraDoll@hexbear.net 43 points 1 day ago (1 children)
  1. not really, no
  2. sure
  3. lmao, absolutely not
  4. i doubt we really think for the same reasons but yeah
  5. does anyone on earth doubt this?

Point 5 is directed at the anti-emigration right I think. If you want to stay the premier super power you need to be able to exploit the labor of emigrants, ergo you can’t have your ethnostate and eat it too. Although these ideas are perfectly compatible in an apartheid state, so maybe a good idea for his next book.

shut up u egg egghead

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, reading the context does make it seem like he's snidely paraphrasing the first guy's comment on him.
