I feel the same way and I'm a non-American. At the end of the day, a fascist racist who appoints Neo Nazis into power and wants to annex Canada is still in power.

Rupert goddamn Murdoch getting screentime was definitely a low point for me.
Psh. I boycotted football before it was cool!

This isn't a political comment, football is just fucking boring.
Long whike back my cousin in the UK loved it, he was raving about how fast paced and exciting it was. I was like whaaat? After some discussion it turns out the televised games for UK were being edited, they would cut out all the delays and timeout and reorganizing on field so the games were super quick looking.
It really is the most boring of sports. It's the sport equivalent of start stop traffic
This is actually why I like it more than most other sports - I can actually tell whatβs going on and see the plays because of the stop / start.
With high movement sports like football (soccer), hockey, or especially basketball, it just looks like a bunch of people going back and forth and I have a really hard time figuring out whatβs going on.
If you want to try an 'old world' replacement, the England v France rugby match from 8th Feb (part of the six nations tournament) was great
I'm seeing people say that the broadcaster (Fox Sports, of course) injected cheers into the broadcast for Trump, and boos for Taylor Swift. I don't want to spread misinfo though so does anyone know if it's true, or if there's a way to validate it? (Eg by analyzing the audio)
Yeah I felt the same way. The country is falling apart and we are just supposed to continue celebrating big businesses, rich athletes, and music stars? I couldn't really get into it.
See, but they're no longer giving bread and circuses. They're charging out the ass for all of it.
Circus performer here
There are almost no circuses either :(
There a pretty big one in Washington DC
Iβm predicting a colosseum fight or something for that americaβs anniversary celebration executive order. Trump loves the UFC/WWE
Lady Gaga, NOLA culture, 2 black quarterbacks (The Trump loving one got spanked by predominantly Black Philly) and did you see Kendrickβs show and how pissed people got about it?
I thought it was pretty good as far as the NFL goes.
Nothing as American as the exploitation of Black bodies..

Go back and watch This is America. Sounds trite but just do it.
I was playing d&d all day. Did not know anything was happening.
Lucky, we had to postpone a session 0 due to people having plans for the super bowl. Super boring game, and the whole event felt off. I fell asleep before it ended, but spent the whole time thinking about the fun we could have had.
Also that other commenter making assumptions about you and boycotting seemed just as odd. It reminds me more people came from reddit recently.
I ran two games, one is a weekly game of teens, the other is every other week of adults. I was surprised no one canceled from either game. Both were great sessions.
Nice, we're about to run a pirate campaign with like 9, 10 people. We'll be lucky to finish a round of combat in a session, but it'll be one to remember for sure.
Back in Maryland with my old gaming group a friend and I ran games with an average of 20 people, but there was seldom a time where all 20 were in the scene together. It was a lot of fun, some games lend themselves better for large stuff than others. No way would I do d&d at that scale, but white wolf works great.
I was in the same boat.
Spent all day cooking and listening to podcasts/music. Invited a friend over for dinner like usual and she said she couldn't come until it was late and well past dark, which was very unusual. Then she told me she was at a Superbowl party and that was how I found out what was going on.
Only way things could have been better is if I had D&D with the food.
Did you miss when he said right after "You picked the right time but the wrong guy"? I really appreciated that bit.
I feel like this all flew over my head. I could tell something was flying under the radar but not quite what. The splitting of the flag, like what's the meaning there? If he's talking about the revolution, is he talking about against or for trump? To me it sounded the opposite, wouldn't a revolution be against what is at present, which is trump?
It symbolized a divided America, which is only exacerbated by Trump.
Right!? Trump very much ran on a platform of breaking down government institutions so the messaging is going to have to get a little more clear.
Also people are already dying but as many of us know it's not going to be readily accessible information. Neither is the god damn revolution. Words of wisdom he kind of pissed on there.
As a victim of actual child predators I'm over it being used as a political device too, especially when it's used to hurt and villanize my trans brothers and sisters
The whole thing was deeply unnerving
