Can't own a gun, but controlling the nukes is just fine. Makes sense.

And let THAT be a LESSON to you! If you ALSO want to get away with a Crime all you need to do is THREATEN the LIFE of the Judge's FAMILY!

Violence works. Violence is the most efficient way of getting what you want. If you can pull it off, that is. — And the dictator in charge of the world's most violent empire is very much able to pull it off.

"Will have to"

Lmao no he doesn't. What happens if he doesn't do it? And what happens if he owns more guns? More convictions with zero consequences? Why would he care?

Setting aside that it's Donald Trump I think it's messed up that non-violent felons, or any felon really, lose rights just because they're felons. Why should anyone lose their right to vote or keep a firearm if neither of those things had anything to do with their crimes?

[–] Dave@lemmy.nz 32 points 1 week ago (2 children)

There's actually a really good reason to deny prisoners the vote.

Imagine you're a political party in control of the government. You can pass laws that target people who would not vote for you, then convict them of those crimes so they can't vote against you!

[–] CrimeDad@lemmy.crimedad.work 13 points 1 week ago

It do be like that.

Cant own a gun, but has power to launch nukes, and command an army...

[–] ExtremeDullard@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 1 week ago

If he refuses, ask Stormy to provide the sample.

[–] reagansrottencorpse@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 week ago

I knew he would never face any consequences

[–] Florn@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago

If he gets a gun anyway, what are they gonna do about it? Prosecute him?

[–] myrrh@ttrpg.network 6 points 1 week ago

...do three strikes laws apply to simultaneous convictions?..

[–] danekrae@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

"Why does this blood sample smell like hamberders?!"

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

The US justice system isn't even a joke any more.
