This is a place to share greentexts and witness the confounding life of Anon. If you're new to the Greentext community, think of it as a sort of zoo with Anon as the main attraction.

Be warned:

If you find yourself getting angry (or god forbid, agreeing) with something Anon has said, you might be doing it wrong.

"newfriend" is the word filter πŸ˜‚

[–] chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Maybe people just started typing it that way instead to begin with, you can't know

[–] Banichan@dormi.zone 5 points 2 years ago

I've been on the site since 2004, I absolutely know πŸ˜‚

[–] Wanderer@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What a bunch of horseshit. What's it meant to be?

[–] Banichan@dormi.zone 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Replace "friend" with the worst F-word you can imagine.

Not offensive enough.

how to find authentic green texts on 4chan?

[–] errer@lemmy.world 50 points 2 years ago

That’s the great part, you don’t

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 43 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Here's the fun thing about greentexts: you can in theory write them on any other platform.

> gets politician called as evil stalinist by other
> looks inside
> the mildest form of social democracy imaginable

Also other platforms, such as Lemmy are often better than 4chan.

I mean, it won't be written by anon, but why not

[–] idunnololz@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] dch82@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 years ago

I'm dch82, not anon

Step 1. Give up your sanity

[–] taladar@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 years ago

I thought 4chan was the kind of place where if you ever had sanity at any point in your life you are already at a disadvantage?

[–] Fizz@lemmy.nz 13 points 2 years ago

Check out the regular occurring generals and threads that ask specifically for people's stories. GreenTexts outside of that are shunned because they don't want the board spammed by blogposting.

A lot of the posts are shit unless you share the hobby. You will be sifting through so much shit to find something mildly entertaining. I would not recommend.

Browse /b/ or /int/ long enough

[–] Zozano@lemy.lol 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I can't tell if you're joking, malicious, stupid or sincere.

Take my sage.

WTMYWTSC

What does that mean?

[–] nutsack@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

webms that make you want to say "cool"

[–] TriflingToad@lemmy.world 41 points 2 years ago (1 children)

capchas are so real. Those things suck

[–] Caligvla@lemmy.dbzer0.com 27 points 2 years ago (2 children)

4chan's captchas are some of the hardest I've ever seen, it's not enough that it's hard to tell what the fuck it's written but having to align the text beforehand is just evil.

[–] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 12 points 2 years ago (2 children)

It's why everyone is using browser addons or mobile apps that solve it for you. It's not very resilient against computers solving them, it seems.

[–] Nelots@lemm.ee 22 points 2 years ago (3 children)

A captcha that is easier for a computer to solve than a person seems rarher counterproductive...

[–] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 10 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's a shitshow. Nothing but bad changes to that site for years now

Somehow it never occured to me to look for captcha solvers, got to try that next time I visit the site, although I doubt it'll work very well.

[–] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

The phone app I use gets it right 10/10. The browser extension, I don't remember which I used was 8/10 or so iirc

[–] ComicalMayhem@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

I swear to God I tried posting once but got my IP locked out from posting because I couldn't get the captcha right before x amount of tries. Thing is at towards the end I was so confident I was putting in the right letters and numbers but it just wasn't taking it.

the internet : a slot machine for things that make you smile a bit.

payout rate : 1 laugh per 100 minutes

[–] lennivelkant@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Aww fuck, I just wasted my laugh on this comment... The next hour or so is gonna suck

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

it's on average. also, 100 minutes is not 1 hour, it's 1 hour 40mins.

Get extra rekt.

PS : 100 mins is one metric hour, but we're not on metric time

[–] lennivelkant@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 2 years ago (2 children)

"The next hour or so" both accounts for the variance and is more concise than saying "the next hour and forty minutes, give or take"

But now I want metric time, that sounds nice actually.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

β€œThe next hour or so” both accounts for the variance and is more concise than saying β€œthe next hour and forty minutes, give or take”

my bad, reading comprehension is hard

Honestly, I often struggle with that too. No harm, no foul, have a nice week!
