My mom has some holiday decoration blocks that spell "Let it snow". It has become a tradition of mine to rearrange them into "le tits now" and see how long til she notices. Good times.
Americans have no idea how to pronounce van Gogh. Literally none of the phonemes in Gogh are pronounced similar to the phonemes in “go”.
You mainly get "van go," but also the occasional "van goth."
At least that last one gets the “o” sound right (but nothing else).
“G” is a velar fricative, “o” is the short o as in “top”, and “gh” is the hardest, raspiest fricative you can muster.
Like the Klingon dish gagh?

It was actually Gogh that made me ok with it. We are obviously flying a little loose.
Hate to say it, but "Gogh" is not pronounced "Go." It's more like "hah."

Americans tend to pronounce his name like Van Go, not the fancy Dutch way.

Sorry I'm German, so our pronunciation is closer to the Dutch, so it didn't make sense to me
