I'm with everyone else here:

[–] Ageroth@reddthat.com 67 points 1 year ago

The account has two comments from 10 months ago about how there is no real justification for using the atomic bombs on Japan, and this post. Really not sure what the dela is

[–] CileTheSane@lemmy.ca 14 points 1 year ago

Which is also my reaction to the post being upvoted.

[–] SzethFriendOfNimi@lemmy.world 95 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Gonna need some context on the sells information or else you risk being on the Santa Naughty List

Agree. Where’s the smoke?

[–] beepaboopa@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago

Oh, sorry. They meant, "No smoke; without fire" it's like the firewatcher's "All clear". There's no smoke and they're without fire.

A meme said it! Can't be wrong, unless proof otherwise!

[–] Salvo@aussie.zone 11 points 1 year ago

Well actually, You can heat things up to a temperature where they do sublimate, without there being an ignition source.

“No smoke without fire” is a misnomer.

Yeah, I can't find a news article or anything, lol. Definitely confused.

[–] myster0n@feddit.nl 76 points 1 year ago

Did you ... Have a bad dream or something?

[–] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 70 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Fantasy author Neil Gaiman?

[–] Midnitte@beehaw.org 38 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That certainly looks like his photo... when did he turn into Google Adsense?

[–] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 1 year ago

I bet his website has google analytics or some shit, and a weenie is all upset about it.

[–] LemmySoloHer@lemmy.world 61 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm pretty sure Neil Gaiman enjoys milk and cookies, he even wrote the story Fortunately, The Milk where a kid goes back in time to get the ever-important milk that his father forgot to pick up.

[–] stepan@lemmy.cafe 7 points 1 year ago

It was my favorite book when I was like 8 years old.

There's no evidence Santa isnt selling our data

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.de 19 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Everyone knows Santa is in bed with corporations. Just look at how many cameos he makes in ads and shopping malls! I would be very surprised if he didn't sell all his data.

[–] coriza@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

There is a Brazilian Rock Band with a great song named "Santa Claus son of a bitch" (or maybe motherfucker) here is the Google translate (with light editing) of the first couple verses:

Santa Claus motherfucker
Reject the wretched
I want to kill him!
That capitalist pig

Give gifts to the rich
And spits on the poor
Give gifts to the rich
And spits on the poor

I've come back to this after sleeping to check; has anyone figured out what the hell this means?

[–] sem@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I've also come back but 6 h later. Can confirm. No one knows what it means

What’s wrong with Neil’s beard?

I must be confused... Good omens Neil gaiman?

[–] rmuk@feddit.uk 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, but... Why did you capitalize 'Good' and 'Neil', but not 'omens' and 'gaiman'?

[–] deltapi@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Looks like mobile auto formatting to me. G after a period, N is from a name, g ends with a ? but no space afterwards, so it doesn't auto capitalize.

Honesty the funniest thing I’ve read on the lemmiverse. Holy shit. I don’t understand why it is so funny.

[–] 5714@lemmy.dbzer0.com 30 points 1 year ago

With current AI hallucinations, you at least have a glimpse of what is happening. This hallucination is absolute bonkers though.

This post and the comments need to be studied by researchers to understand what is happening

Santa's the one buying all the personal information because he has to update the naughty list

[–] jherazob@beehaw.org 17 points 1 year ago

Wait, what? Did i miss some scandal or something?

[–] dwemthy 10 points 1 year ago

Where do you think he gets his story ideas? You think Sandman is fiction?

I love how everyone is debating "Sells that information to companies", but no one's talking about "knows everything you do".

[–] Theme@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 year ago

Geil Naiman

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] SzethFriendOfNimi@lemmy.world 23 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Author of American Gods, Coraline, countless other gems and the co-writer of Good Omens with Pratchett.

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Never heard of any of that. But thanks.

https://xkcd.com/1053/

Not sure what library/resources you use but definitely worth checking out

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's a wholesome comic. Thanks.

[–] Deebster@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ironically, it's a pretty well-known one itself (you see people just refer to it by mentioning "today's 10000").

[–] invertedspear@lemm.ee 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Go pick up smoke and mirrors, it’s a short story collection, very easy to get into. If you love it, check out the American Gods novel and the Sandman comics. The original sandman is a bit dated at this point, but still some amazing storytelling.
