Exactly, coming from Java it was such a big difference. Previously I could click on any class or method and view the implementation, with Python, suddenly everything was a convoluted jungle of methods popping into existence during runtime or being loaded from some opaque binary.

There is a system to identify frequent contributors, they used it to send mails for the KDE goals vote. I feel like if there was some sort of vote that it should probably use that to identify the votes of contributors.

Too relatable, I checked the NGINX logs of a commerical service some time ago and a decent chunk was just Uptime Kuma
The entire thing consists of 6 million objects and is 5GiB. I feel like at this point they should just split the common code into a repo and have the packages in submodule buckets grouped by name like some sort of hashmap multirepo (only half kidding).
I swear someones just using it as a harder drive at this point

There is something like that called Plebbit, it's a good example of all the downsides of such a system.
It's decentralized and "censorship proof" AKA completely unmoderated with all the spamming and unsavory content one might expect. The CSAM issue is mostly avoided because it doesn't support any kind of media sharing (only plain text) due to the bandwidth for P2P connections and avoiding having to store that on the client. Last time I checked content also simply disappears when users disconnect.
The federated system is better because it's more efficient and scales better since only a couple hundred instances have to send/receive activity instead of hundred thousands of users individually. It also helps ensure content is moderated. Admins tend to keep their own instance clean and defederate from instances that don't.
