I was just thinking about a popular first hand account I read of a soldier in the American revolution. He signed up because he was broke and saw a table with soldiers offering a dollar a day to fight. Also, French troops and other non colonists helped the revolutionaries win. So the 'founding fathers' were both paid and outside agitators lol.
