Chat, i need your transbian advice. Remember that girl with the cage in her living room that i was flirting with? She went on infodumping about how long it took her to learn shibari, what to look out for when buying equipment and sent me links to very extensive tutorials (both text and video) and her favorite shop for bondage rope.Chat, do you think this means anything?
I'm joking btw, i know what this means, it is getting kinda obvious by now. And after she did a quick self tie on camera to demonstrate, i can't get some images out of my head anymore (in a good way). It looks as if i'm seriously going through with this and will learn how to do shibari. I've looked at starter sets for ropes already. It will take a long while to do stuff like suspensions, but something like a futomomo looks like i could learn it in a few months. What a coincidence, that would also be about the timeframe when she's fully healed up from her last round of bottom surgery. Hmmmmm.

Not sure what the specific advice being sought is, but if youre interested in treating you own rope, you can get untreated hemp rope rather cheap, in various lengths. There was a seller on etsy selling hemp (and jute I think?) untreated rope in various lengths called my nawashi (i think? Could be misremembering the name) that was cheaper than elsewhere and decent quality. Plus ive been told treating your own rope is very rewarding, and you can make it exactly like you want it!
Rope is really fun and knots are so interesting, its so fun to do selfties not just for being bound but also for knowing all the aspects of the rope and the knots. I hope you have a ton of fun not just in the tying her up but also in the learning part of it too!
spoiler your future play partner is right most people who say they want to be a rope top dont want to put the effort in to learn it. Hell, ive got a mildly funky body and have given up on finding someone who would be up for binding me (not even suspension which would be–uhh I shouldn't hornypost here... but even just basic decorative or nonconstricting ties). Not gonna vent just like, it makes sense that she's skeptical and also excited ^^

I will almost certainly go with jute rope tho, as i may be allergic to hemp - at least i have gotten a suspiciously stuffy nose in the past when a friend had her entire rope bag contents out because her partner visited on the weekend where we had our TTRPG session at her place (although it's hard to tell, as hemp rope seems to be a catchall term for fibres from various species and specifically does not refer to cannabis fibre). The vendor i'm looking at has some really nice dyed jute ropes, including my favorite color in the diameter and length that i have decided on, so i will probably go with that.
And you're right, i'm really looking forward to the learning part. It looks as if this could become a fun hobby.

I'm people!I'm getting into rigging. I used to do a lot of self bondage with ropes and was pretty good at it, now I have a girlfriend/rope-bunny, it's interesting how much is like riding a bicycle and how much is completely new with another person.
