I had the same kneejerk reaction to the comment, until I checked the link. OP could have worked on their setup a bit better, and is doing themselves no favours by doubling down on it
It’s entirely necessary when I set myself up for that punchline. Was it a bit conspicuous when I mentioned a very specific body part they lack, and then made a joke?

the set up and punchline worked, i think. maybe people are just sensitive to ribbing that involves mild insult about lack of education.
I thought it might have been the mild sexual angle? In any case, I’ve never had people quite this angery about a contraception joke
And their comments weirdly get instant upvotes while everyone else's (who got the sarcasm and got that you're not actually being rude) is getting mixed votes. hmm...
I get that we have broader neurodivergence here but isn't it too much for someone being THAT invested about being butthurt about a sarcastic joke?

They're saying snakes do not have diaphragms.

Access mostly relates to socioeconomic factors, but you’re largely correct. Use is notably higher in more affluent areas, but snakes are largely homeless and unsupported through reproductive legislation so that rarely matters.

Yeah we all get that, we don't get why they felt the necessity to set it up by being rude to a random.
It seems like a bad attempt to cover-up a mistake but whatever.
I definitely did not think they were being rude, and thought their reply was hilarious.
Sometimes I reply with these bland and lifeless replies, knowing full goddamn well what the OP is saying, just to get the conversation juices flowing. This one went great till I noticed all the downvotes 😵
