I would hardly describe online pollsters as scientists. Science, y'know, matters.

I'm constantly surprised that Obama was president until 2016. It feels like a lifetime ago.

What about "(I'm No) Superman" by Lazlo Bane, aka the Scrubs theme song?

Then I think you're misusing the word footnote.

I guess it depends on what you're trying to achieve with reading. I want to experience a good story, or maybe learn something. Audiobooks do the job just fine, maybe better than text for me. If you think there's inherent value in consuming text, then I can respect that, but it doesn't discount the tremendous amount of value that audiobooks have in many people's lives.

Most of the "real" memes that get posted are terrible, so I can't say I mind too much.

President of Sand Planet has big human arms?! My first instinct is that that sucks, but my second instinct is that it rules.

OLED Dark Mode? (lemmy.world)
submitted 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) by TheTetrapod@lemmy.world to c/boostforlemmy@lemmy.world

I was just wondering if there was any intention of bringing an OLED friendly dark mode (like, just a pitch black background) to Boost for Lemmy? I'm pretty sure there was one on the Reddit version, and I've always preferred the aesthetic, although admittedly my battery goes further than it used to.

EDIT: After seeing spiffpitt's comment, I did a couple seconds more investigation than the other 10 times I've checked in the last 2 years. The AMOLED dark mode is available under "Customize Colors", which is greyed out if "Dynamic Colors" is checked.
