I just can’t stop thinking about it. I can’t go back to repressing wanting it. I used to think it was pointless because it wouldn’t feminize me enough to make a difference and at this point, that thought doesn’t even dissuade me.

My partner’s been so great and supportive but she’s not into femme people, so we’d end up just being platonic coparents. She’s my best friend and I’m not brave enough to tell her but it’s also not fair to keep from her.

I just feel like I lose no matter what. Every option involves hurting my best friend. It’s just not fair to anyone involved.

this product sold by EstroLabs, a company started by nazis for the express purpose of selling fake HRT to desperate trans women, taken at the recommended dosage on the packaging is potentially fatal and will definitely make you sick. DO NOT BUY THIS.

Rules

  • Our goal is to rapidly increase the population of /c/traa while maintaining true to an anti-capitalist and radically trans positive nature. Our rules can and should rapidly change to reflect this goal and to build a truly diverse and inclusive community as problems arise. The rules for now will be relatively barebones and may expand as time goes on, Hexbear code of conduct applies.

  • We want you to bring your trans friends, so bring a friend! Its the law!

Musings on expanding the Hexbear transgender population

  • I think its important to try to bring more trans people here due to hexbears inclusive atmosphere. Reddit and other social media sites are prone to harassment of openly trans users and the site admins don't like banning these harassers, this is obviously different on hexbear. Having a space that is radically trans inclusive can be good for some people's mental health. There really aren't many places like this on the internet, and many places that are trans-made spaces don't meet this criteria.

  • We will need to find trans content creators and mention the existence of /c/traa so they can spread their content. Brooke Valley is a good example of someone to notify. Content creators should be given a lot of leeway and support, we might try pinning original content regularly to incentivize engagement.

  • Create posts on Hexbear and then post the image links to trans spaces on reddit and other social media. Then, create a comment to link to the thread.

  • Find highly active users and spread info that c/traa exists. Trawling /r/tra, /r/tra2, /r/egg_irl, and /r/LateStageGenderBinary for these users is a good idea. We will eventually create a day where we fish for users across the internet and will focus our efforts on one area or the other. I believe we'll create some sort of bounty system for this where we'll call out posts by users that had high interactivity and give them fun little internet medals or something silly like that and have a scoreboard for it.

  • We need posts. We need a lot of posting. Post. POST.

SEO

  • Currently brainstorming a way to SEO our way onto Google search. We need to use any tool available to us to maintain anti-capitalist sentiment in the trans community and insure trans people are being directed to properly safe places to avoid myriad vectors of harm.

  • There aren't a whole lot of foreign language trans spaces. I think translating posts and rule content into foreign languages might help foster foreign language engagement/SEO and help us increase our understanding of our community abroad. I think this might be easier than English SEO.

Moderators

  • As for moderators, I am obviously looking for trans/gender diverse people that are dedicated socialists and have been on hexbear for some time. If you are able to speak multiple languages, thats a huge plus and you should mention it. I'd like to have many kinds of trans experiences represented by the mod team, if you feel like your corner of the gender spectrum is under-represented generally, step up! Please post below what criteria you meet and what ideas you have for this comm. Will be going over and reading each application over the next week or so.

The History of the Trans Flag

We can thank Monica Helms, a trans woman who is also a trans activist, for the flag that celebrates the trans community. Helms first designed the flag in 1999 and introduced it at a Phoenix Pride parade in 2000. The flag is a symbol of trans pride and diversity and has since become a universal badge of joy and acceptance. It’s displayed at Pride events, in homes, at businesses, on t-shirts—the list goes on and on.

If you’re looking to get a peek at the original flag, Helms donated it to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, where visitors can see the design on display in the LGBT collection.

What Do the Colors of the Trans Flag Mean?

As with all other flags, you have to know what the colors symbolize to fully appreciate the design. The trans flag is relatively simple when it comes to color palette, with five horizontal stripes and three main hues: pink, blue, and white. Each color encapsulates a different part of the trans community, coming together in one cheery banner. The flag was designed so that there is no upside down version of the arrangement—no matter which way it’s flown, the same image appears. This was done intentionally to add another layer of meaning to the flag: There is no wrong way to hang the flag, just as there is no wrong way to express your gender identity

What does the pink represent?

According to traditional societal rules, pink is often associated with girls. This color is incorporated to celebrate anyone who identifies as a woman, despite the gender they were assigned at birth.

What does the blue represent?

Similarly to the pink addition, blue is a nod to society’s association of the color with boys. You guessed it: The color celebrates anyone who identifies as a man, despite the gender they were assigned at birth.

What does the white represent?

Gender is not constricted by the binary of boy or girl, man or woman. With this in mind, Helms wanted to celebrate the broader LGBTQ+ community in the design. The central white stripe is in honor of people who identify as intersex, transitioning, or don’t have a pre-defined gender.
