I had to look up the glued hand thing and found a reddit thread. Distinguishing comments. They'd make twitter proud.

[–] LocalAreaMan@lemmy.world -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You don't think it's an existential threat to the human species and all other complex life?

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Of course fossils fuels are a threat to civilization. Reddit was making condensing remarks at the protester from the comfort from their homes. All the good people left reddit by the time this happened.

[–] starik@lemmy.today 4 points 1 week ago

I think you meant “disgusting” and “condescending”

[–] Aneb@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

All the smart and good Redditors left when they changed their third party API and started to charge for its use. We've been here for 3-4 years

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 56 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Meanwhile, at Fox News: "The rabble are getting upset about fuel prices again. Run more stories about trans athletes immediately!"

[–] fake@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The nice thing is that no matter how much they distract, it still stings every time they fill up and they're reminded at every fuel station they drive past.

[–] Simulation6@sopuli.xyz 6 points 1 week ago

I put under 20$ in my car for the week. See a big-ol-truck at the next pump and he is already at 120$ and still pumping.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

Good thing I don't watch Faux News.

Now if we could just get everyone to stop watching it we'd be much better off

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 34 points 1 week ago

I was already pumping regular but iirc the diesel price was $6.78/gal

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 25 points 1 week ago (3 children)
[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

just like 2 Fast 2 Furious

[–] BlackVenom@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

They never had their diesel.

Unleaded regular, not double pumping 93 like you should.

[–] chuckleslord@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

Lights on above the regular dispenser, so the number isn't displayed because it's not the fuel being currently pumped.

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Nah I was just already pumping 87 when I took the picture and wanted to share the diesel price.

What’s with all the MAGA chuds popping up?

Did Trump run Truth Social into the ground already like he does everything?

[–] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

They're actually Kremlin Shills showing up here. To be honest, I'm a bit sad they found Lemmy. But they're unavoidable and spewing the exact same boring bullcrap they've been repeating since 2014 as if it somehow makes it true.

Interestingly, these shills might actually be worse at whatever their goal is.

More interesting still, is that they only pop up when election interference is useful, (which is far too late this year for that and its mid-term elections they don't have a good strategy at fucking with), OR when Putin is about to pour another bucket of shit onto a new fan.

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

We're having an influx of professioal right-wing operations on Lemmy. The biggest example is all the people claiming to be leftists trying to convince American leftists that the Dems are 100% as bad as the Republicans and that we shouldn't vote for them.

The Trump admin may he popular on the far-right, but the historic swing voters are voting Dem this round, so in addition to voter suppression and all their other bullshit, the right is trying to convince leftists to either stay home or burn their vote on a third party that can't win.

[–] Leviathan@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

I'm sure you already are, but 'report, block and move on' is the best way to deal with these and really all right wingers you might encounter.

[–] LH0ezVT@sh.itjust.works 23 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

The Maga bot accounts are showing up, that means this is effective. Keep up the good work.

Actually, we need more making-fun-of-bullshit stickers. All I see around me is "bad thing is bad" (like for example FCK NZS), but that gets filtered by the mental ad block.

Things I came up with are "Good thing climate change isn't real, how much was your new AC?" or "Only people we don't like do war crimes". Maybe those have too many words, you need to break through someone's filter in the split second, like a Mr Beast thumbnail does with iPad kids. I'm open to suggestions.

I was shocked that no enterprising soul has made a sticker out of the Fell For It Again medal covered maga wojack

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (2 children)

The diesel pump is perfect. Would be best if at a truck stop in the big rig area.

[–] kerryh8er04@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

Or any rural area where the farmers go to buy their fuel for their tractors.

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Rural-ish Maine, plenty of diesels in town. Most are justified work vehicles, but there are definitely a bunch of pavement princesses around.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

A friend of mine who used to be big on tagging used to design his own stickers for tagging purposes. He used to tell me that you can order a certain kind of sticker that is nearly impossible to get off. You should definitely not research those and / or use them because that would be illegal.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 week ago

I have a stack of these stickers but I have a EV so I never get a chance to use them unless I specifically go to a pump but that's just petty. I used some of those stickers for eggs, I guess I can add them to the ~~beef~~ horse meat.

[–] HootinNHollerin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Based. I got 100 of these stickers and have also been putting them on as well as handing them out to friends

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Saw my buddy at the pump yesterday and pressed a stack I to his hand lol.

Bro took a quick look, looks back up to me and says "mission accepted" lol

[–] Leviathan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Good villain.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago
[–] baggachipz@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What’s a good source for one to acquire these? My friend wants to find an easy, reputable, affordable seller for these stickers to enjoy in the comfort of his own home.

[–] JordanZ@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I have to buy at least the mid-grade that nobody usually buys. I live in the mountains so regular is 85 instead of 87 but isn’t any cheaper. My car’s manual explicitly states high altitude areas may have lower than 87 and to not put anything lower than 87 into this vehicle. The jump from regular to the next grade hasn’t been 10 cents in quite some time, more like 30 here. Then another 30 cents to premium.

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Interesting, what model car? I have for years sworn I remembered seeing 85 out west, glad to know I'm not crazy, on that count at least.

[–] JordanZ@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

My understanding is it’s basically all of Ford’s ecoboost motors as they’re turbos.

They only call for 87 but have this section in the owners manual.

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago

Huh, interesting. I think a bottle of octane boost shows a pretty tangible difference too and only costs 5 bucks.

The one good thing that came out of the unnecessary war.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Just like the real thing.
