“I am never ever, ever, ever, ever doing this event again,” former Kentucky GOP gubernatorial candidate and event host Eric Deters, who throws the event on his farm, said on Facebook Monday. “When I put together Patriot State Freedom Fest, I put it together with the game plan and the idea that I could pay for it with the VIP sales of $1,000 from these hundred people that I interact with on a regular basis that have money.”

. . . “Out of all these people that have money that I interact with, who I do favors for all day long. They ask me for something, I never say no. I never said no to these people,” he said. “None of these people will ever, ever, ever get a favor from me again, ever. Not only will they never get a favor from me again, they do not have Bulldog immunity.” He also lashed out at the media for not adequately covering the event.

lol

"Waaaa, some people I know didn't buy tickets for my shitty event! I'm never doing anything to help them again!"

That diatribe alone should show he's unfit for office.

Edit: The eejit is an attorney. Astounding.

The eejit is an attorney. Astounding.

Hey now. I'm told quid-pro-quo is totally okay as long as it's a conservative doing it.

[–] frank@sopuli.xyz 46 points 1 week ago (3 children)

What the fuck is Bulldog immunity?

[–] MrShankles@reddthat.com 42 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I feel gross to even try and look it up, but I did the dirty work for ya. Seems that he is the "bulldog" and immunity is referring to his "wrath". Idk, I didn't dig further, just took a screen shot and figured that's as much as anyone needs to know about what this twat thinks. Peaked as a douche in highschool vibes

[–] frank@sopuli.xyz 25 points 1 week ago

Holy fuck that's insanely immature. High school peaking to the max, ew

Thank you for your service!

Peaked as a douche in highschool vibes

That describes about 2/3 of that base. The ones who can be found at Walmart or big box hardware stores wearing camo cargo shorts and sleeveless tshirts with their moobs hanging out

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

No fuckin’ idea.

I guess it's when he's not considering forcing dogs to attack you? 🤷🏻

[–] Leviathan@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago (2 children)

How is this guy in charge of anything at all?

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

It’s right there - rich people pay him. Or, they did.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 week ago

Being used by rich people without even realizing it? Sounds perfect for the Republican party.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 week ago

Haha what an idiot. Buddy, you weren't "doing favors" for those people, they were simply using you until they didn't need you anymore.

“Out of all these people that have money that I interact with, who I do favors for all day long. They ask me for something, I never say no. I never said no to these people,” he said.

Right. That's because rich people feel entitled to others' favors. People do free things for them all the time just because they are rich. Your favors are a drop in the bucket, and just one more way that wealthy people get away with paying less than the rest of us do.

I looked this guy up. He's 63. I can't imagine going that long without figuring out that rich people don't give a fuck about others. Dude's probably going through an existential crisis right now.

[–] baggachipz@sh.itjust.works 65 points 1 week ago (1 children)

…Deters is pissed, lashing out at people whom he apparently expected to attend.

Are we not even trying to pretend we aren't an openly corrupt authorization oligarchy anymore?

Back in my day we at least tried to lie about it to the press.

[–] PDFuego@aussie.zone 7 points 1 week ago

It wasn't even an interview, it would have been an improvement if a reporter had had to squeeze this out of him. It was a completely voluntary Facebook tantrum.

Look this is funny and all, but the title isn't quite accurate.
"Canceled After No One Wanted to Pay $1000 to Go" would be accurate.
I think the full truth makes a more interesting headline than this partially true headline.

[–] Lyrl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 45 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

That a hundredish people did pay $1000 to go for several years in a row, and now in 2026 things have changed in a way that they won't pay this year, makes it more encouraging to me than if this were a fizzled startup attempt. Hopefully it's a sign the broader MAGA coalition is losing steam.

[–] fyzzlefry@retrolemmy.com 5 points 1 week ago

I have a favorite band. It is not Kid Rock. I would see them every year if I could.

Maybe they can help each other out? Add Vanilla Ice too, he'll solve it.

Poor fucking baby. Expected people to spend money just cuz and the evil media didn't tell them they were obligated to do so.

[–] Hawanja@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

I mean, you have to have an event for the media to cover it, lol.
The media seems to be covering the cancelling of the event pretty well.

[–] kestrel7_7@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

No more Bulldog immunity?! Say it ain’t so!

[–] myyass@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I think it I'm slow on the uptake, but it just dawned on me. Is he popular with this administration because the word Kid in his stage name?

[–] Ironfacebuster@lemmy.world 35 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's more likely because of this

Lyrics to Cool, Daddy Cool by Kid Rock

[–] myyass@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago (1 children)

If that's some real lyrics... sigh wtf. I don't listen to him so I don't know.

wow what a piece of ~~work~~ shit.

[–] GreyEyedGhost@piefed.ca 8 points 1 week ago (4 children)

I'm sure a kid that ugly wouldn't pique even Trump's interest.

By guy who is not a kid and who does not rock.

[–] GloriousGasHole@piefed.social 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think its because he makes rock specifically for kids. Mainly, to attract the underage girls. What a surprise that the guy who wrote a song about fucking children is MAGA.

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 2 points 3 days ago

Kid Rock threw out a "Some say it's statutory, but I say it's mandatory." in the middle of Osmosis Jones

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago

I do appreciate that there's at least been some measure of consequence for these rich, fascist bastards, however minor.

[–] tigermountain@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

Couldn't Trump just get Hegseth to round up some people with Apache helicopters and threaten to shoot them if they don't attend?

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 13 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Kid Rock used to be entertaining. Not good music, but fun to laugh at.

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I remember when the internet used to like him for enforcing $3 beers at his concerts, because at one point he actually used to care about his working-class fanbase (or at least had a good PR team back then). Really goes to show how Trump can bring out the absolute worst in people.

[–] Delphia@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

I hate to say it but I've seen him live and his show was really fucking good.

I have a soft spot for his music because he hit big when I was in my early teens. He made juvenile rock rap aimed at broke white kids and I was that demographic. These days I'm abundantly aware that HE sucks, Bawitaba still slaps tho.

I'd go if he were doing covers of leftwing humanist musicians catalogue's. "One-two-three...This land is your land...".

[–] CluelessCalls@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Even the right knows the right can’t make music.

Kid Crock of Shit

[–] No1@aussie.zone 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You named it the "Patriot State Freedom Fest".

What did you expect?
