It always fascinates me how people can achieve such things, and acquire knowledge to do so in the first place. Meanwhile, last night I spent 1h troubleshooting jellyfin because my kid clicked a few things in a menu by mistake when I was away.

Hot take, but we, as a community should focus resources on improving hardware support for devices, manfacturers of which aren't actively hostile to linux.

Sadly, linux and open source is managed in capitalist way.

Reverse-engineering the M1 GPU with zero public docs is insane. Huge respect for managing to get an open-source driver working on Linux from scratch.

At age 20, she reverse-engineered the Apple GPU. At age 40, I got the LED to blink on my Arduino.
