Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.
Oh, they are targeting the magameatheads? Well, I guess I'll skip stopping in now.
“And I’m starting to realize life’s too short to try to build in places that people don’t appreciate what you’re bringing versus a place like this, where people do appreciate what you’re building,” Aplin continued.
Well, I guess it's just as well that I "don't appreciate" a company with no break room, where employees regularly work 10 hours shifts, where they're generously allowed a 10 minute "personal moment" to eat lunch standing up in the back, where if you're late more than 3 times in 6 months you get fired (and that includes being "late" back from the bathroom), where they never do reviews so you never get a raise, are under constant audio and video surveillance, you have to have your phone turned off your entire shift, you get in trouble if you refuse to work late and you can't leave until "your work is done", you can't go to your car during work (not even to get, say, period products), no employee discount for a shift meal, etc, etc. Seriously, fuck Buccee's, I'm glad you find the blue states "hostile".
Damn 🙁 (We don’t have them in my area, and I actually don’t understand the hype.)
It's really big and clean and new and they sell a bunch of snacks and some branded snacks and sodas and other more unusual items that you wouldn't normally find at a gas station or mini department store.
People rave about their bbq sandwiches, but those are actually pretty mid and their bbq sauce they use is not very good.
Right now they're newer and expanding and people stop there out of hype or curiosity. A decade from now and no one will care as they start to get trashy.
It's big... thats it... thats all it is is big... but apparently not big enough to hold a break room
Only hype I have for it is that it is a reliable and genuinely clean bathroom stop that you will never have to wait in line for - no matter how fuckin packed the place is.
And their beaver chips are pretty dang good.
But honestly, if I'm ever in control of the road trip (I never am), i wouldn't bother stopping. It's a fuckin gas station. But everyone is all excited about bucees, so I'm there every road trip
Why does this feel like Buc-ee’s decided to try and cash in on MAGA appeal. Wonder how that will work out long term.

The sad thing is, it will. They're going to corner the market in the redneck states they are in. The real reason they don't care about the blue states is blue states have alternative options that aren't bargain bin cheap shit, so they get fewer customers. And by goading and insulting blue states, they gain extra loyalty among the stupid hicks.
Financially, this will work out just fine for Buc-ee's, and if it ever stops being profitable, they can just shut everything down and leave the red states with the empty building and the next scammer can come along.
yea and blue states have gas stations which have better convenient type stores.
They are suing a local business owner who has been in business with this logo for decades... and are saying it is not "business-friendly" to support a local small business over a national mega-chain.
Huh...
I wonder if there's another reason the company wants to operate only in red states and wants to flood the zone with lawsuits that give them horrible press...
The son of a co-founder of a popular Texas gas station chain is facing a new felony charge in Travis County, less than a year after being indicted on multiple counts of felony invasive visual recording.
29-year-old Mitchell Wasek, son of Bucee's co-founder Don Wasek, has been charged with third-degree felony possession or promotion of child pornography.
A warrant for his arrest was issued on Feb. 27 and bond has been set at $50,000, according to court records.

Edit:
That article was old, but pretrial was supposed to start like a week ago, very very hard to find recent articles, but that's the entire point of all this bullshit. They're creating as much noise as possible because anything is better than that trial for their image.
The CEO will shit on a sidewalk if it's a guilty verdict, that's still preferable to people talking about the founder's son and trying it to the brand.
Trying to bribe the Pro-Pedo states with a combination of clean bathrooms, ego stroking, and brisket.
He is apparently trying get identities of those accusing him in the civil suit.
The only other thing I could find was a video on Yahoo from two weeks ago that seems to have the same info. Nothing on the criminal side.
yikes!
It's weirdly flying completely under the radar...
Jon Oliver did a whole deep dive on the company and their lawsuits and everything, and he completely missed it.
When I first heard about it, I didn't believe it because surely it would have been huge news. They must have a crazy good PR team.
Legal Eagle did a breakdown of them after Oliver's segment as well that's worth watching.
"Conservative, business friendly" is literally counter to employee and community friendly. They build there cause they can do so at the expense of the employees and the communities.
Fuc-ees Buc-ee's.
A Buc-ee's gas station is like a Disneyland version of a truck stop. Has a big footprint like one, but actual commercial drivers aren't able to stop there.
I have never viewed it as a truck stop. It’s just an inconveniently oversized and busy gas station with very nice bathrooms.
It’s a great place to stop if you need to be assured a clean toilet. It’s crazy overhyped as a destination in and of itself though. And a ton of the stuff there is overpriced.
Buc-ee can go Fuc-ee itself!
This makes me sad only because my sweet gay neighbor just went on a roadtrip and brought me back a rainbow tiedye bucees magnet thats on my fridge.
And for now its gonna stay cause it was a nice gift, but now bucees has made it feel complicated for it to be there :/
I think that they’re more capitalist than conservative. My lesbian friend had a bunch of “Beaver lover” gear from there. She wore it somewhat to the chagrin of her wife.
Buccees has always been run by conservatives. You should tell your gay neighbor that they might not want to spend any more money there unless they’re some sort of log cabin republican.
She isn't a log cabin republican, I assume she just didnt know. We don't have them where we live.
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) has argued the company’s decision to sue a local business operator in Beavercreek, Ohio, for alleged trademark infringement was “ridiculous.”
The (R) stands for Republican.
Conservative, business friendly... Y'know, morons.
lol that's fine, gtfo out of Ohio and go sue small businesses in truly red states.
Lmfao yes I'm sure beavercreek residents are gonna love being called liberals

Reasonable copyright enforcement IS business friendly
Well, then, fuck Buc-ee's.
