Capitol/capital is one of the stupidest word pairs in the English language. Like, why didn’t they just settle on capitol for the seat of government including both the city and the building? And then use capital for large letters and money-related terms?

It remains to be seen if the VW ID2 will be sold in the US. It’s doubtful — just like the ID3 wasn’t the ID1 wont be, the 2-door Golf no longer is, and the smaller Buzz isn’t.
There was a whole line of outstanding Civic models for a while there. I miss the Del Sol.

Airbags don’t cost $30000 to add to a car. Seatbelts have been around since the 1960s.
Technology like this gets cheaper as it becomes a commodity. Look at how cheap flat panel tvs have gotten.
Manufacturers like VW make affordable cars that meet safety standards — they just don’t sell them in the US because Americans like to waste money on giant SUVs and trucks that they don’t really need. The profit margins are much higher.
Because Chinese cars are priced at a loss to corner the market and put competition out of business.
Meanwhile VW and other manufacturers make smaller more affordable cars, but they don’t sell them here.
I have a TCL tv. It runs Roku. (TCL is also available in an android model.) Roku’s own website tells you it does this. Supposedly you can turn it off, but it’s on by default.

I have mixed feelings about this because if Chik Fil A wants to waste its money repeatedly showing its ads to a gay vegetarian — by all means, let me help you empty your pockets. But if you’re Kristy Noem showing me a “we’re going to deport you” ad — i want to throw my remote at my TV.
My last Roku froze up and overheated after a software update. It was also slow as molasses. It’s also a privacy nightmare.
Not Roku. Slow. Doesn’t last. Evidently takes screenshots of what you’re watching and sends them back to Roku.
