I love a full English and I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work as a vegan dish. It's all about hearty salty savory and that all works great as vegan food

Cuisine of the month:
It is seven in the morning and I see this and I cannot have it.
How could you do this to me
this but I have a killer vegan eggs (silken tofu scrambled with black salt), and smoked tofu just fired as is is my bacon replacement. so those plus everyting you mentioned uauaauoguh yum
Beans!
This looks edible, so it cannot be English.
I was going to say...England AND food? Can't be!
You can replace eggs with scrambled tofu, there's also some good instant vegan scrambled egg / omelette mixes based on chickpea flour. Both have the advantage of not giving that weird mouthfeel that you get with actual eggs.
But yeah baked beans are an amazing comfort food especially when you add some spices and condiments to make them pack a bit more of a punch, i really like covering them in Sriracha Majoo and smoked paprika powder.
People are unreasonably down on baked beans. They aren't exciting but they aren't meant to be, they're sweet, savoury, tomato-y beans. They're not much better than fine, but, y'know, they are.
a lot of them are yanks that think brit baked beans are as unbelievably sweet as theirs
Can you even get the Brit type baked beans in seppoland? Like even the "British style" ones from Heinz available here in Canada are close enough, but don't actually taste the same. Idk if they even have that in the US at all.
I found out tomato sauce baked beans existed and it changed everything. The beans are fine, i just hate molasses. Fucking silent gen food
I can’t make people like them but they’ve always been stocked in my cupboards as something simple i can eat whenever. I like throwing random spices in to sorta curry them a bit
Jalapeños in baked beans is peak
You can't have avocado and call it an English breakfast
I don't know why and don't ask me bc i don't make the rules
Yeah but I make the rules
Can you make a rule that people aren't allowed to laugh at me
Yes. People will now explode if they laugh at you. Not me though im exempt
Five people exploded today. Thank you
HAHA HAHAHAHA HAHAHAH HAHAHA. Thats at you.
Curses
That's a super cute moka pot
The baby ones are always adorable. Pain in the ass to make coffee for more than one person, though.
That's what I feel the tiny ones are for, though. The coffee in moka pots is not so good if it's not fresh, so making more than you need makes no sense to me.
In my house we have like 5 moka pots: a super cute no-top one with two tubes that brew directly into two espresso cups, a single serving moka pot, a 4-cup moka pot for when we have visitors, a no top, single spout big moka top and milk steamer, and a Mukka (moka pot for cappuccino). We actually have so many because we both used to live alone and had our own moka pot collection, but it's good to have the right tool for many situations.
In my house we have like 5 moka pots
Bourgeoisie decadence. I don't have 5 fucking cups in my entire house and you have 5 of the same goddamn type of coffee maker?!
They're cheap as hell where I live, we thrifted them all 🤷
I don't think I have 5 cups either now that I think about it
single serve methods are a benefit most of the time imo, forces me to pace myself. i can dig out the french press if i need to make a bunch at once
I came in to make a comment about how uncommon it is. It's like seeing a hairless cat.
It really is! I've seen tons of different moka pots but almost never one like this
That looks really good and I might make myself that tomorrow
I never really enjoyed eating meat when I did so I don't tend to gravitate to eating meat replacements as a vegan. Baked beans are too sweet for me for a breakfast food (I don't usually eat breakfast)
I think for me I'd remove the fried/grilled tomato and just reduce this down to some nice toasted bread such as vegan toasted pancakes or soda bread
I've heard English bacon is different, so I'm assuming subbing some tempeh or carrot bacon wouldn't quite work, right?
The English type is from a different part of the pig and has less fat content, it's also not always cured or smoked. The US product called Canadian bacon or ham is closer.
I'm not really into "meat substitutes" so I'm not sure exactly what you'd use, but I think I've seen round vegetarian bacon at the store that's clearly trying to replicate the peameal bacon that's popular in Ontario, rather than US style bacon.
It's not always smoked, and is often back bacon instead of what they call "streaky bacon". But they have streaky bacon too. It's still salty cured pig meat; there's only so much variety you can get with that.
English bacon is kinda like canadian bacon, shit.
