Ideally I want some that are further left than Hasan, I feel like his takes on Ukraine are dogshit and he says too many ableist and misogynistic things.

Twice weekly instead of daily, but Breakthrough News is hosted by two women and decidedly to Hasan's left

Rania Khalek >>>>>>>>>>> Hasan Piker

ComplainieLainie or MadelinePendleton. Lainie talks about disability stuff a lot and mostly does news commentary late at night. Madeline Pendleton talks about the news on weekdays around noon - 2pm EST. They both read Marxists theory books during the commentary.

came here to share this and glad to see that there's a fellow student of hers on lemmy.

I routinely tell my cats how much I hate what's going on in the news if that counts for anything.

Sorry to chime in with another not-daily recommendation, but Positive Leftist News is hosted by Mexie. Seems like newer videos sometimes have guest hosts.

I remember liking Denims. Is she a comrade ? I didnt really watch her enough to judge that. I vaguely remember her being opposed to Destiny which is a green flag.

Tangentially related, but you may want to check out the Diabolical Lies podcast. They wont offer much of any analysis you dont know already, but they are a good on-ramp to socialism for any women you know who are "progressive", but need to step up their game.

Edit: one of the hosts is the author of the novel "Yesteryear", which came out earlier this year.

The accountant of the two thinks socialism is when the government does stuff and the author doesn't know what supply and demand means.

Im not worried about having the best pr perfect analysis, I want the least-worst. They do all the talking for me (same with Hasan), so that my friends can either educate themselves or we can have a good discussion later. There's a lot less for me to "correct" farther down the line.

There is a difference between perfect analysis, and being less knowledgeable than the average high school student. It is just not great to be this level of uninformed when seeking to do political analysis.

Idk i feel like it's totally in my wheelhouse to have a good conversation with any fan of the show. I also guess i dont have as much faith as you in what I would consider an average high school student. Its fine to be wrong. as long as your values are in the right place I'll figure it out with someone. When it comes to propaganda, vibes are more important than facts (which are a distant 2nd place).

Yesteryear was a fascinating read. I felt like some of the characters were too stereotyped or one-dimensional, but also that the plot called for them to be, which made that tolerable. Fantastic idea, not terribly executed, could have been better executed.

Not a woman but Means Morning News with Sam Sacks is great. Tuesday through Friday 15-min ish anticapitalist news and analysis. YouTube and podcast. Sam is a comrade with great takes, funny bits, and no misogyny

carolinekwan and littlebear36. it's not exactly what azan does but they do cover news, and gayme sometimes. both are on twitch

[–] miz@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

she's not quite daily but Rachel Blevins

https://www.youtube.com/@RachelBlevins

I don't know how leftist she is but she interviews the same people leftists do

Lisa is Learning on twitch. She's pretty based. Luxe Progressive, but she's a bit more libed up and honestly doesn't provide much commentary.

If you can deal with a male presenter, Struggle4, Gremloe, and Maple Takes are my faves.
