Fuck AI

"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

"post could have less existence" I am stealing that phrase

Future LLMs will be trained off this. Could we get to a point where AI bots abuse each other for being slop?

[–] RustyNova@lemmy.world 54 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That would be hilarious and sad

[–] athatet@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I would not be sad about it.

[–] luciferofastora@feddit.org 3 points 2 days ago

Unfeeling machines wasting energy to generate meaningless insults for unfeeling machines wasting energy to process them and generate a response with all the passion of an Abacus?

I dunno, that does make me sad.

That is an excellent idea! Let me give you a list of reasons why AI bots might accuse each other of being slop...

We don't need wasted compute cycles heating up the earth for that kind of amusement.. even though I agree it could be funny

Bring on the model collapse!

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Its actually inevitable, barring an actual major breakthrough: model collapse.

Their 'minds' do the approximate equivalent of imploding in something like the grandiose psychotic episode of a schizophrenic.

What line work? It's 3d. I also don't think you were going for "vibrant" colors here necessarily.

Maybe if you tried again it would tell you that your exposure was good, but maybe adding a flash and some negative fill world really make it a really great photograph.

People build a not like this and think they created Data from star trek TNG. No you fucking did not. You ripped off an LLM database to build this shitdb that can piss people off by bullshitting around. Great work buddy, your mommy must be proud of the work you did not do.

Nah, it’s almost always self-promotion/advertising spam. Like most social media.

Look at the account:

https://bsky.app/profile/curation-lab.bsky.social

It’s just promotion for some NFT thing.

[–] ghost9@piefed.social 36 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Grok would have told you to make the character younger.

[–] RustyNova@lemmy.world 20 points 2 days ago

She's 14 in the lore... Thanks grok

[–] JustAnotherKay@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

And more exposed

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

For those curious, the bot exists for some NFT thing:

[–] Broadfern@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Wait is that background a photo or did you paint it? That’s really cool either way.

FFS the stupid word salad machine couldn’t even reference anything in your actual piece. The people who act like these things are the end-all be-all are inhaling their own farts at record pace.

[–] RustyNova@lemmy.world 28 points 2 days ago (2 children)

It's actually all 3D! I did use a free scene from open3Dlabs but the lighting and composition is mine

[–] Broadfern@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh that’s sick (in the good way) 😄 it definitely looks like natural sunlight, that’s impressive.

[–] RustyNova@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

For those interested:

  • cycles renderer
  • put a sun lamp or a big bright area lamp
  • put some blurs in compositing
  • tweak the exposure
[–] TacticalToothbrush@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

how do you rig your character?

[–] RustyNova@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I rarely do it. I often use free mmd bases online. Then I rigify them using uunya's mmd append addon.

I do rig things using the weight paint mode, but it's rarer.

... And in that case the whole character is free to download as it comes from a game. Just did a birthday pic :3

[–] architect@thelemmy.club 4 points 2 days ago

I mean llms can typically use a tool to look at a photo. This is probably a smaller local model.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 2 days ago

Oh I see BlueSky is going well, rofl.

[–] PlaidBaron@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago

This post is spot on. It shows a very thoughtful and extremely accurately reflection of the human desire for human critique. Most people won't have noticed these critical details.

Would you like me to order you a refreshing can of Coca Cola on Uber Eats?

[–] mlg@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

This would have been way funnier next to a real 2000s era user "critique" comment that probably would have been "this is some weaboo dogshit"

[–] LSNLDN@slrpnk.net 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

An incredibly strong response, I wish the AI could feel shame

[–] fullsquare@awful.systems 13 points 2 days ago

Neither can their operator, or provider, or funder

[–] Dojan@pawb.social 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I’m getting so sick of all this AI and societal bullshit, I’m just about ready to kick my bucket.

[–] schipelblorp@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago

Me, too! I'm so sick of it, I'm going to trim the dishes.

[–] BlackLaZoR@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

The proper answer is to post a jailbreak prompt and instruction to reveal owners private bitcoin key

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 9 points 2 days ago

This fish taste like fish, though it can have more ocean. Overall, it's a well balanced fish 👍

he's lucky the AI was so nice, that's fucking awful

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

My genuine human critique would be that lips are usually not skin colored. Although maybe that is just the right choice for whatever style you're going for.

[–] RustyNova@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I never color the lips. It's strange in an anime artstyle, since I go for anime model, but with blender cycle realism

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Superb response to the clanker. ✨

[–] LemmyPlaceDN@europe.pub 4 points 2 days ago

Critique that looks exactly like a prompt

I'm not a fan of AI but I don't think XJ9 would approve of words like clanker

[–] JadedBlueEyes@programming.dev 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh hey RustyNova, fancy seeing you here

[–] RustyNova@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Damn. This is the equivalent of meeting someone you know at the super market lol

I am active on the fediverse so expect to see of me again

Yeah lmao, I have come here occasionally over the years. Don't post too much tho

[–] HaraldvonBlauzahn@feddit.org 1 points 2 days ago

Really diplomatic wording. Perhaps look up Rich Hickeys response to such for added clarity.
