Cute!
how its going?
After 2 weeks I knew I that this was what i needed, and that I'd couldn't survive going back to the way things were. I could cry, i could actually feel things. I'm now at 6 weeks. Physical changes starting to happen. I'm looking forward to the 3-6 month stint, since a lot of people are telling me that's where the body changes start to really take hold.
If the only thing i got from HRT was the emotional changes, I'd still never stop taking it.
[EDIT: probably worth saying, im on cypro so that explains why so much changed emotionally in the first couple of weeks already. T got nuked from orbit]

That's soo good to hear! I didn't really have that realization until probably about 2-3 months. It took a while to get my hormones to the target levels since I started on tablets. My liver converts the estradiol almost entirely to estrone so my E1 levels were astronomical. My doctor moved me to patches and that point is when I was like "oh hell yeah, this is what life is supposed to feel like". Having that feeling combined with finally seeing my testosterone levels within the cis range made me absolutely bawl because it was proof that I wasn't, like, deluding myself or something. That this is actually what is right for me. That plus the fact that my tits started growing about 2-3 weeks in. I am on Spiro so it took a while for my T levels to bottom out.
If the only thing i got from HRT was the emotional changes, I'd still never stop taking it.
Same, girl. I am finally able to feel moved by a piece of art, or inspired and hopeful by someone else's triumphs, or saddened by tragedy. For all the good and bad, its nice to be able to fully feel. I wouldn't want to trade it for anything.
This is so lovely to read, thanks for sharing Cily. I think i got lucky starting on gel and cypro, instant effects π
Cily is a lovely name I've not heard before.
Thanks! It's a nickname my wife gave me based on my actual name :)
Hi Cily! I'm also new here, Julia btw
Nice to meet you, Julia :) I hope you like it here as much as I have!
Welcome Cily, glad you found us <3
This is a beautiful space full of kind people, actually got to meet one of my best friends here :3
Had the same issue with my name, now it's even worse actually, but whatever. I am just so impressed by the courage so many around here show! Part of me really strives to get there, hiding so much less already is maybe the best thing about finally finding myself and starting to live life authentically, but a lot of it is scary still... Though, I'm so grateful for all the trans people who are themselves and visible, because they helped me so much - I might've never cracked if it weren't for them after all.
Wanna tell us some about your identity? How did you find it, what made you crack?
I'm the friend, it's me. Hey Eskee xx
Good morning <3
Hello!
May I ask how you'd like to be referred to if not by your username?
I cracked several years ago but, like I'm sure many folks experience, I fought actually transitioning until it got to a point where it couldn't be contained anymore. Once I finally became aware of my gender incongruence, I thought I could manage it by separating it between my public and personal personas. Like a demi-gender or bi-gender sort of thing. The dichotomy of feeling so comfortable and secure in my femininity at home vs the distress of having an identity that didn't fit that everyone else in my life saw got to be too much. The growing anti-trans sentiment spreading across the globe pushed me over the edge and I will not allow a bunch of old ugly people dictate who I can and can't be.
Spite powered me through the early stages of transitioning. That was until I was able to see something in myself to truly love.
As I transitioned, I learned that my hesitancy was rooted in a lot of internalized transphobia. Like I thought that I would never achieve the unrealistically high expectations I had for my desired outcome so why try, or that everyone would always know I'm trans as if that's a bad thing. It's taken a lot to unpack all that and it's crazy to reflect on because I feel so adorable and confident now.
I've been lurking around the blahaj zone for a while, like almost 2 years lol. I've gotten to recognize several of the more active members and this space feels so comfortable. I'm eternally grateful to girlies like Dandelion who wrote of her experiences so eloquently and openly that it really helped me process my early transition and see a pathway through it. I hope that I can carry that torch and share more of myself as time goes on :)
Thanks for commenting!
Ohhh no, slight misunderstanding, I love that name, it's just even worse now than my old one for similar reasons as the ones you mentioned x)
Yeah, I think that's the path most of us walk for a while. I feel like the outlier here, the moment I cracked I pushed for everything transition as fast as I could, still do. It somehow gave me a decisiveness I couldn't ever have imagined. Not that there were no anxiety or doubt, but I could manage.

These are so beautiful, I'm real happy for you :). Eager to see what you're going to share, when you feel like it.

So I consider my egg cracking a different not event from starting to transition. This was me once I started coming out. I speed ran my social transition and just hopscotched from one milestone to another. Its like I spent so much time figuring out what I wanted from transitioning that once I made the decision I was just like "okay, let's go".
Oh I got that, I think that's how it goes for most of us? The realization of being trans followed by a phase of what one's gonna do with it.
For me these events just overlapped pretty much. Of course the cracking took a while, but the second I actually got it (when I finally read through the gender dysphoria bible) was the same moment where I decided I'll transition and come out to my loved ones ASAP. I've been searching for that answer for over a decade, when I finally got it I jumped in real fast. Still not sure where I took the guts for that from tbh.

I get that. Some of my friends have told me how brave I am and I'm just like "I don't really feel brave, I just got fed up". Thank you for sharing :)
ah this is so beautiful, thanks for writing it out
Hi Cily! Itβs nice to meet you :)
Likewise :) Thanks for saying hi!
Hellooo Cilly! :3
Hi Minty! How are you?
Struggling lool. Emotions and dysphoria through da roof. I am currently coping by hugging the shit out of my plushy.
I hope you are doing well :3
Ooof girl same. I think I'm finally through it though. My hormonal cycles since adding progesterone have been kinda intense. I hope you start to feel better soon too! One of my friends got be a blahaj for Christmas and she's been subjected to many cuddle and cry sessions.

Thank you so much, Nissa! I'm happy to be here and more active in the community :)
I read through your introduction post from a few months ago and just wanted to say that a lot of similar events have happened to me as I grew up. I also can remember several episodes of euphoria and confusing crushes and "cross dressing" for halloween as a joke. I love the sense of self validity you seem to have and I'm glad that you've found what brings you joy! π
Thanks, I really appreciate that!
Hi Cily! Nice to meet you!
Hi! Nice to meet you too :) I saw your post about your nails. They looked really good! My wife and I have been using a gel kit to paint our nails but I recently came across a rumor that diy gel kits can lead to the development of a severe allergic reaction. So we may have to stop using gel which sucks because it's pretty durable and lasts several weeks :(
Thank you! I think I did a pretty good job for my first time, lol. So sorry about your fun gel!
Yea its a bit of a bummer because having painted nails helps relieve so much dysphoria I have over my hands. But I'll find some other way to manage, I usually do :)
Im sooooo late lol but welcome Cily! Hope you stick around awhile! β€οΈβ€οΈ
