Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

This is great! Where was this taken?

Mamdani went on a visit to a kindergarten class with Ms. Rachel a few months ago. The babies on the bus are going wah-wah-wah.

To the surprise of absolutely no one.

[–] Dryad@lemmy.world 45 points 2 weeks ago

You usually don’t broadcast things that don’t qualify as newsworthy.

[–] cattywampas@lemmy.world 30 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Ope, too bad nobody was listening when you said that!

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago

His sycophants were alllll ears

[–] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 28 points 2 weeks ago

From the same person who threatened to take away broadcast license from networks who broadcasted his pedo-ass getting manhandled in the debate against Harris.

...and when the couch-fucker got "fact checked" in his debate

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 27 points 2 weeks ago

Another trumpertantrum. Of course the toddler says that.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 27 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That was their fact-checking filter. They already know that Trump lies whenever he opens his mouth or types something on "truth" social, so they proactively did not send it.

[–] BillyClark@piefed.social 18 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yes, really, any station that broadcasts a Trump speech should get shut down for spreading misinformation.

Having a Cluster B in charge is fun. Isn’t this fun? The toxic branch of the DSM, the least capable of remission of the 4 (and never, at 80), and spiraling down into Dimentia. Who thought this was a good idea?

[–] FaceDeer@fedia.io 7 points 2 weeks ago (5 children)

More than half of the American electorate.

In their defense, it was very boring. The white house hyped it up like he was going to drop a bomb, but it was just the same speech he always does

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Just trying to stir up trouble before the election, like usual. Remember when "The Caravan" was coming to America, THOUSANDS of blood-thirsty south-of-the-border thugs coming to rape, pillage, and murder?

Then the election happened, and he never mentioned it again, and The Caravan just melted away.

This time the boogeyman is the Chinese, because he can't blame the real problem, Russia, because he KNOWS they were involved, and can implicate him.

I think we should do deep investigations into the 2016, 2020, and 2024 elections, leave no stone unturned, spare no expense, and make it all public, and find out who REALLY has been manipulating our elections.

Oh, and do a Federal investigation into Florida elections while we're at it. They've been 100% rigged for years.

That's just it.

No substance, no air time. It eliminates having to fact check afterwards as well. Double win!

The government dictating what is airing on television? Sounds like it's not a free country.

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 24 points 2 weeks ago

what a whiny bitch

[–] turtlesareneat@piefed.ca 21 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They didn't carry Obama's address on healthcare, they didn't carry Biden's address on the threat to democracy. What's good for the goose...

[–] glitch1985@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I just caught a goose this morning. Please continue, what is good for it.

[–] slickgoat@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

What about the Epstein files ? Already forgotten.

[–] WesternInfidels@feddit.online 13 points 2 weeks ago

I can smell the Freedom burning all the way over here

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago

Try not listening to him, like these broadcasters did. Nothing of value was lost.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Government controlling private enterprise.

That’s socialism.

[–] bagsy@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

No its not, its fascism.

[–] mechoman444@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago

Luckily the president is in charge of the executive branch of the federal government and not private broadcasting networks. Right! Right?

[–] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago

That's unfair. His primetime address was too big a load of bullshit for anyone to carry. No legs can lift that.

[–] A_A@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago

Better title :
"NBC, ABC and others see the lying Taco pedo as an explosive bullshit disease"

[–] No1@aussie.zone 9 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Doesn't freedom include the right to NOT do something, and not to be forced to do something?

Not according to those fucktards. Keep in mind these same folks think that gays getting the right to exist and get married is an afront to their freedoms. And being told they shouldn't be homophobes is worse than how Nazis treated the Jews during WW2.

[–] dan1101@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Bullying and lying should also come with penalties.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Whine like a bitch about it, why don't you snowflake...?

Spicer: ‘A lot of negative comments’ from MAGA faithful after Trump address

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5973895-sean-spicer-trump-election-security/

well, good.

[–] turtlesareneat@piefed.ca 5 points 2 weeks ago

...because they wanted to see him go further and introduce a plan

[–] Polyphilic@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 weeks ago

Freedom of the press, except when the press does something I dont like

[–] TryingToBeGood@reddthat.com 6 points 2 weeks ago

what a whiny little snot

[–] leaky_shower_thought@feddit.nl 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

instead of backing up his claims he resorts to threats. great move.

What a feckless president, such an embarrassment.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 weeks ago

The media was surprisingly responsible and didn't let him lie without fact checking this time. CBS showed part of it but spent a lot of time fact checking before and after. Too bad MAGA will spin it as censorship and say the networks were afraid to let Trump tell the truth

[–] Flying_Lynx@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 weeks ago

Barring PINO from the screen would protect everyone's sanity. A matter of global security.

[–] xenomor@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Isn’t it always claiming that these networks are completely failing? Why would it care if such failing networks covered its speech?

[–] Uranus_Hz@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 weeks ago

Fox had to pay three quarters of a billion dollars for airing the same lies that Trump spewed in his speech. No network should be forced to take that risk.

[–] foodandart@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 weeks ago
[–] CannedCairn@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

I hate him.
