Can someone explain this expression? I'm dumb and don't get it
I can't figure out what it means either, I think I just like fruit bats :3
It's an old sailor's poem/expression: red sky at night - sailor's delight. red sky at morning - sailor take warning. Pretty certain it's got no scientific backing.
When the sky is red at night there is generally little chance of a storm, and its often a typical sunset. Conversely, when the sky is red in the morning it is usually caused by clouds and is not typical like with a sunset. Clouds are necessary to a storm, so it makes some sense even if not scientifically perfect
