Today I looked up a list of current gas prices in Europe. While most countries were over EUR 2 per litre, Russia was EUR 0.8 something per litre, having the cheapest gas in Europe. It could be that official prices are being kept artificially low by the evil scheming regime while the black market flourishes, it could be the numbers were outdated, it could be the source was simply lying — or it could be that Russia is an oil producing country with an abundance of fossil fuels for the domestic market.
have those prices risen a little bit recently? i could have sworn it was way lower at one point. by comparison, that's a bit more than $3 per gallon, which is low but not unreasonably low by US standards. obviously nothing about this discounts your comment or makes the OP any less ai-hallucinated but europe always had expensive gas anyway.

From what I’ve read the newer ones charge more easily and last longer in the cold than older ones did. I’d love to hear from someone with some experience though. I don’t know how many Hexbears are running around with newish Chinese EVs in cold climates for comparison though.
New ones are equipped with heat pumps to efficiently keep the battery at temp, but the battery is the thing powering the heat pump and heat pumps are a lot worse at heating than cooling.
Regardless, EVs don't uniquely suck in the cold. ICE engines also lose a bunch of efficiency and range in cold weather, that's just the name of the game.
20-30ish % efficiency drop in capacity IIRC and, model depending, they've designed ways to mitigate it.

While using it. But when you’re not using it the battery still has to be kept warm. Unless you’re parking in a heated )or just insulated) garage you’re still getting that loss of energy. In extreme colds you basically need to keep it plugged in to some sort of power. But that’s not much different from a gas or diesel car.

Yes, but it's a stereotype that Russians only live in areas where's "it's cold". If you look at population densities/distributions of Russia, you'll find that they live pretty much the same latitudes as other European countries.
That big blog towards the left is Moscow, the largest urban agglomeration in all of Europe. Aside from St. Petersburg (~5 million people), pretty much all the big urban agglomerations are on the same latitude or more southern than Moscow. And Moscow is on the same latitude as Copenhagen and Edinburgh. Yes it gets a little colder there in winter, but that's just 2-3 months. No reason why EVs wouldn't work in Russia.
But I thought all Russians wore the furry hats with ear flaps all the time and trudged through the show with bags of cabbage while bears on unicycles rode by them.
