I was first introduced to Lemmy during Reddit's API fiasco back in 2023, and this exact type of post was made back then too where the entire community is held up by a very small numbers of users who post excessively. That means in 3 years, this platform hasn't grown at all. It's still stuck as a niche that most people either avoid or don't care about.

People who upvote and leave comments also hold up the fediverse!

while Lemmy scratches my post reddit itch, this is one of the down sides. Everyone goes to Reddit, despite it being an AI Bot filled shit show, so you never get the same visibility. At least around here you get a better quality of poster, and you don't need to select your words quite as much.
