since these people are likely to be religious nationalists, id ask 'wait, you are saying the caste system is a bad thing? what happens to the brahmins then'

[–] goldroger@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The BJP nowadays pretends that caste discrimination is over. The Prime Minister is backward caste, the President is tribal, etc. It is just a show, of course.

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Just like when yankkkee chuds pretend racism is over since the 80s and being anti-racist is the real racism (against whites)

[–] Keld@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago

Remember when California tried to pass an anti caste discrimination law and it was vetoed by Newson because a bunch of Brahmin people told him to.

ya i don't know a lot about China but I'm pretty sure there's no fucking caste system anywhere

[–] Carl@hexbear.net 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The conspiracy theory literally references courtly practices from 500 years ago as "proof"

More like 1500 years ago since the 4 occupations weren't applicable by the time of the Song dynasty.

if so, leave it to anti communists to blame china for problems they solved meow-tableflip

[–] redparadise@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago

I believe the only even remotely based in reality point I've seen being made is about the Hukou system, which of course still is wildly misrepresented and inaccurate exaggeration to nonsensical conclusions.

there's a caste system everywhere. The difference is that China is ruled by Chinese, while India is ruled by non-Indians (Indians aren't a single people anyway)

[–] LeeeroooyJeeenkiiins@hexbear.net 2 points 1 month ago (2 children)

There's a difference between class and caste tho

[–] sooper_dooper_roofer@hexbear.net 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

No there isn't. There's a worldwide racial caste system based on skin color, just as there was one in Northern India.

There's an ever-so-slight exception because Black Americans ended up materially rich and were able to make a distinct material culture despite social discrimination (jazz, basketball, other arts/sports) and so they end up higher caste than a malnourished Indian person who might be a bit lighter.

The lights discriminate against the darks, and literally every Black person I've ever met is asleep about this because whitey allows a tiny 25 million of them in the US to exist with a few social perks--thus non-American Africans perceive Black American culture as their own because they look like them, and the ubiquity of this Black culture gives them a false sense of optimism and calm. Africa has no military, poses zero threat to anyone, and if it ever did, they (the lights) would make today's India-hate look like a pleasurable stroll through the park.

Ibrahim Traore is simply the result of "competition in the imperialist market". It used to be a monopoly by westoid whites, but now there's also eastoid whites, Chinese, and Gulf Arabs. So Africa has some bargaining power that will allow them a bit more money and material improvement, which will further solidify Africans' false sense of optimism while having zero actual hard power in the world, and having their resources taken by light-skinned foreigners who abuse them and their children (not just whites and Arabs, but Chinese too).

India is not much better, but at least the Indian masses could theoretically pull off a USSR style revolution and seize the nukes and whatnot. Africa can't even do that because there just is no military in Africa (save foreign ones).

North India's caste system: Light Brahmins > less lighter high castes > middle castes > darkest Dalits

Modern world's caste system: whites > north Asians > blacks or Arabs? (former has westoid privilege, latter has light skin privilege) > Southeast Asians > Indians (with the lightest ones being favored by the world, even though they're responsible for all the bad things about India, and the world, as usual)

I'm so used to seeing western fascists project their society's problems onto China that this a bit of a refreshing change of pace.

Oh man, you’re being exposed to an entirely new world (or should I say Old World) of macro sized brain worms

Brain Shai-Hulud.

[–] ourtimewillcome@hexbear.net 31 points 1 month ago (4 children)

given how obviously inorganic this whole racist push is, do people in India actually fall for this in real life, or is it purely an online phenomenon?

[–] jackmaoist@hexbear.net 35 points 1 month ago (1 children)

BJP supporters will believe anything. Kind of the main reason BJP is in power. BJP runs the world's largest bot operation.

[–] redparadise@hexbear.net 19 points 1 month ago

Oh believe me it's far more of an offline than online phenomenon, many many people believe China is a backwater incompetent peasant country producing low quality goods for us 996 run by evil dictatorship which is very good at lying and faking development, BJP IT Cell is just working overtime right now to avoid the real uncomfortable comparison, only thing Indians should derive from China is that China dictatorship, dictatorship good development, India thus hab good development under Modi dictatorship, won't be surprised if this is also to used to perpetuate the caste system which is very much present and most active especially in RSS/BJP's upper caste Hindu base lol.

[–] goldroger@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago

Not only online, but for most people China is not on the top of their mind.

And people who work with computers or other electronics know how advanced Chinese products are when compared to ours.

The Maoist uprising against the shi was the most comprehensive proletarian revolution in history, leading to almost totally equal redistribution of the land amongst the nong.
