IMPORTANT

Please do not post the "good friend" or similar copypasta

==========

Our galactic citizens have requested more specific rules, so here are a few.

The general idea is, if you're looking here for rules, you're probably someone who doesn't need to have them spelled out. You're fine. But anyway:

  1. This is a community for Star Wars memes. This means typically screenshots of Star Wars media with some text or context that's meant to be funny and/or thoughtful. All SW media is welcome: movies, games, comic books, fanart... Other kinds of content, like video links or meta memes (about this community, or Lemmy), are fine as well, just keep it on topic.

  2. We are all friends here, and love (sometimes love to hate) Star Wars. Be nice to each other.

  3. As fans of fictional media, we can be passionate. If you very strongly disagree with something or someone, take a deep breath before reacting. Anger leads to the dark side!

  4. Everything in Star Wars has happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, and it's a rich universe of millions of words and millions of years of history. So current Earthly matters really shouldn't concern us here. In other words, leave politics, philosophies and convictions behind the door. This applies even if it's about something related to Star Wars.

  5. Original content is preferred. Reposts are fine, just please limit to a maximum of 3 per day, per citizen. It is recommended, but not required, to mark original memes as (OC) and reposts as (repost).

  6. Local mods are the Jedi council. They may take actions that are necessary to maintain peace and stability of the Republic, even beyond the rules outlined here. Follow their guidance.

  7. Regular rules of the Lemmy.world instance apply.

Anakin: pod racer X

It's a show about how Darth Vader falls in love again with pod racing, but the emperor doesn't allow him to compete, so he competes as a costumed racer called Racer X.

Edit: He has a monkey.

He has a monkey.

I was a bit skeptical until the edit. I'm in. Give this man 80 million dollars.

This sounds like something that would be outsourced to an anime studio and it would have a really bad sounding official synopsis but it would turn out to be better than it has any right to be

Let's add "extreme" to the title then: Anakin: Extreme Pod Racer X

[–] Ummdustry@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 days ago

I was going to suggest Darth Vader in purgatory pod-racing all the children he killed into heaven.

[–] RacerX@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

I like this idea.

I might be willing to support this project as long as he hates sand people even more than in the prequels

[–] helpImTrappedOnline@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

The sand people stopped participating when a new guy "Racer Z" went of the tracks killing them all. It took weeks to clean up.

Its a shame Racer Z disappeared before Racer X appeared, their races would have been legendary.

look in the last ten minutes i've dreamed up four different ridiculous scenarios we could make Darth Vader/Anakin slashfics out of i don't care which we do as long as the monkey is named Glup Shitto.

  • Announce Anakin themed TV spinoff
  • break the OT and prequels into 30 minute chunks, but otherwise unchanged.
  • Profit

I want a spinoff but where it’s just shot after shot of him doing mundane stuff around his apartment.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

with his [i can't think of the right word for a space alien doing this but if they were human they'd be a] manservant Glup Shitto. More than a butler or valet. Makin' the milk bluer with the force.

Statement: While I know you meant a sapient meat bag all I can do is think of R2D2 in a lazily modified butler uniform.

Disgust: Or C-3PO in a Fr*nch maid uniform.

Disgust: Or C-3PO in a Fr*nch maid uniform.

Not a Dot Matrix fan, eh?

Statement: I have never watched Spaceballs.

Amusement: Though Pizza the Hutt does live rent free in my head entirely due to the half life of the joke.

He's the main character of the saga, but the only times he's the main character of an installment are certain Clone Wars episodes and Revenge of the Sith. And in ROTS he shares the leading role with Obi-Wan.

[–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They're both too old now but would've loved a series about obi and anni going on clone war missions and training together.

I guess he ment a good movie

[–] the_flying_pig@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I guess he meant the animated series.

The sequels finished what he started.

"We didn't see it coming and Lucas just kind of went with it!"

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca -1 points 2 days ago

I would watch the hell out of an episodic series that covers all of Vader's adventures in the comics/books.
