Asking the real questions
I thjnk the cold war one there's a "bad ending" where you betray all your cia friends and nuke DC
You misspelled "based ending"
I mean probably in multi player?
Would absolutely play a game about the DPRK taking over lesser Korea except I get to play as the good guys
Fuckin cowards, put your money where your mouth is and make a mission aiding the IOF in Gaza
They play-tested it but gamers got bored just clicking the "send missile to hospital" button
Gamers already played No Russian
No Russian was controversial when it was released but now the hogs would probably demand more Russian civilians be killed for Slava ukraini reasons
Ok but they wouldn't just be indiscriminately bombing the city of Seoul would they. They'd be bombing the US military base and a few key targets and defences.
But nah they'll pretend the communists would be indiscriminate in their destruction.
It is, as always, projection. Reminder that more bombs were dropped on DPRK than during the entire World War II Pacific campaign. The US destroyed nearly every building in the entire country and killed around 282,000 people, 20% of the population. They literally ran out of targets to bomb.
June 25, 1951, General O'Donnell, Commander of the Far Eastern Air Force (FEAF) Bomber Command, testified (in answer to a question from Senator John C. Stennis, "North Korea has been virtually destroyed, hasn't it?"): "Oh, yes; …I would say that the entire, almost the entire Korean Peninsula is just a terrible mess. Everything is destroyed. There is nothing standing worthy of the name… Just before the Chinese came in we were grounded. There were no more targets in Korea."
During the Korean War, the United States dropped about 635,000 tons of bombs on Korea, essentially on North Korea, plus 32,557 tons of napalm, exceeding the 503,000 tons dropped in the entire World War II Pacific theater. The bombing destroyed North Korea's major urban and industrial infrastructure: 18 of 22 major cities were at least half obliterated, and by fall 1952 every significant town, city, and industrial area had already been bombed. A Soviet/Razuvaev estimate put deaths from bombing raids at 282,000. Broader estimates of North Korean war deaths are higher: Armstrong estimates 12% to 15% of the North Korean population died in the war overall, while Curtis LeMay later gave a rough 20% figure for war deaths from direct casualties, starvation, and exposure. By 1952, US forces had effectively run out of targets where dropping more bombs would have made any military difference.

They would fire the spooky north korean nerve gas artillery they supposedly have aimed at seoul and everyone would just be dead instantly.
too bad this propaganda can't do shit about north korea having nukes. Eat shit imperialists
Oh cool, after that can we have the prequel where all of NATO did an attack against the newly decolonized Korea thus creating a North and South and making them fight forever? That would be fun
98% of westerners believed the “North Korea” invaded “South Korea” and “North Vietnam” invaded “South Vietnam.” Call it the Wars of Northern Aggression!
Ah yes, the infamously invasion-heavy DPRK
Look, if they let people use Nazi tanks in World of Tanks, it’s going to be 15 layers of bullshit if they won’t let me play as DPRK soldiers
They pull an America's Army and everyone plays as South Korea, but sees the opposing team as North Korea
Who's buying these fucking games?
As someone who works in the Middle East: Arabs
I've been told Saudi Arabia has one of the world championship teams

Dude I told these guys these games are made by people who hate them and they're like 'it's just a game', and then I asked them if they think Westerners would play a game where it's their country engaged in a war with a Western one and they rolled their eyes at me
BRO THE GUYS WHO MADE THIS GAME HATE YOU AND WANT YOU DEAD, DON'T YOU ROLL YOUR EYES AT ME!
Basically every other person who owns something that can play games on it
I just don't see the appeal, it's the same run and gun quick scope bullshit since like 2008
That's why it's popular
Relatively mindless violence with no real strategy behind it
and has a few hundred gigs free.
US propaganda is poorly optimized
they're popular in non western gaming circles. i don't know (and im not saying this as a pejorative i genuinely don't know) why people insist on buying the same game every year like COD or FIFA and not having any taste in games (not bad taste, literally no taste, they do not like or dislike any particular game they just want the newest thing to pass the time). i suspect it's the same thing as being a football fan and i have no clue why that is.
It's what their friends play and they haven't been playing games long enough (usually in their late teens early 20's) is usually why.
If they are older than that they are just slop enjoyers.
here gamers older than that broadly fall into three camps: FIFA and mortal combat pilled ('game cafe' console games essentially), slightly older folk that are into their own youth games like WOW private servers, CS 1.6 and GTA: SA online, or slightly younger that are addicted to CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL or rainbow six siege. the first group is annoying, the second group is harmless and the third group is a toxic cesspool to be avoided at all costs. slop enjoying is spread between all of them but more prominent in the first group.
It sucks, since I love DOTA 2, CS:GO, and Rainbow Six, but the community makes it impossible to pub. I just play indie games now with my friends lol
the community makes it impossible to pub
As someone who doesn't understand the proper strategy in playing LoL, I played it the way I play every game: to enjoy myself, not to compete; I used to 'jungle' as they call it, because I love PvE content and couldn't be bothered with the PvP content (yes, this was my thinking when I picked up LoL); a few games full of angry team mates later I realized this was not the game for me
Yeah jungle is literally the most difficult position, which requires extremely specific timings based on a myriad of things (the heros people are playing, how well they are farming, if they have gone back to buy etc. etc.).
There is a reason the old school pub method was just to farm as Master Yi and try to max level as quickly as possible. You don't have to worry about anything else. Meta changes too fast for me to care, plus, LoL is extremely boring compared to DotA. Either way though, both communities are intolerable, where even if you do put in the research and understand the timings, people will not forgive you for not literally being fucking Faker (which is an extremely old school reference at this point.)
If you only buy one game a year, you don't have a reason to keep up with game recommending media, so you won't run into everyone saying Silksong is better, just whatever game gets its advertising blasted into the general non-gaming media with the largest marketing budget.
(Also I think there's something good about releasing a game every year! If you play a game at 12 years old and the next game in the franchise takes 8 years, you're not anticipating the next release, you're in college.)
The guy that cuts my hair like once a year is my age, i think a bit younger. Ao let's say he's 38. He always does the same Smalltalk and he always says: you play video games, right. And i nod. Then he asks what games, and i name a few games he has never heard off, some indie games, some popular games. When i ask him, the answer is always fifa and call of duty. We have that conversation once a year for 15 years. Video games for him is fifa and cod, laterally
And you're there to help liberate the people of South Korea right?
If slander is spoken and libel is written, what would this be?

American war games: huge variety in enemy nationality
Global South war games: the enemy is either America, France or the UK

They should do the Iran war.
Why is 1/3 of the missions "murder the Iranian negotiator"

Any american war. "The gameplay is fun, but boy, there is a lot of rape"
They already did that in advanced warfare in 2016 or so
