Organizers for Kid Rock's 'Rock the Country Tour' are begging for grace after attendees slammed the MAGA music festival over muddy conditions and extreme delays on day one.

The tour, which is a 7-show small-town festival celebrating the country's 250th anniversary, kicked off on Friday, May 1, in Bellville, Texas. Organizers pleaded for leniency as festivalgoers slammed the tour for having 'the worst event management' amid calls for refunds. Kid Rock is expected to close out the show on Saturday, May 1.

The complaints came after attendees were left stranded in the rain for hours on day 1 of the MAGA music festival.

They can't even report the schedule correctly, what a mess

[–] hateisreality@lemmy.world 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

At least the reporting is at the same level as the event planning

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 9 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Not sure how event planners are supposed to avoid mud after a rain.

Not that I'm defending the organizers, but the attendees sound like idiots. A bunch of maga texans who think they're tough, listening to music aggrandizing machismo culture and the rugged "cowboy" aesthetic, crying when it rains. What a bunch of losers.

They deserve every minute of misery that they get for wanting to see the washed up has-been mascot of the fascist regime in concert.

You throw down hay. Or use plastic walk ways.

If you're organizing a music festival, rain should be something you have a contingency plan for.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Okay, well I still don't care. They could all get stuck in the mud and dug up as fossils a hundred million years from now for all I care.

I mean any person with a soul and hearing wouldn't listen to kid rock....hell I mean these people are terrible for lots of other reasons also.

[–] Simon_Shitewood@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 week ago

I was thinking, I have never been to a festival that had any special procedure for protecting attendees from the rain. Just wear a coat. Or don't, it can get pretty hot in some crowds.

Maga calling kid rock the worst isn't inncorrect, it's just not for the reasons they mean.

Kid Rock makes music for people who have tattoos of their kids but not custody

Kid Rock makes music for people who's meth dealer's dog doesn't even bark at the door anymore when they show up at 2am.

Uh, what?

[–] brax@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm assuming it was a two day thing, and Kid Rock closed out the first night for whatever reason.

[–] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

Its more the dates being screwed up. Saturday was May 2nd and Sunday, the day the article was written and released, was May 3rd.

Festivalgoers demanded refunds after several said they were still waiting in line to get in during the performances of Chase Matthew, Ella Langley, and Jason Aldean. One person who attended the opening night of the festival described the grounds as "wet and nasty."

Should've sprung for the VIP entrance fee, stupid poors.

[–] mPony@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

but paying for something and still being treated like shit are what they've accepted so far. Why should they expect more from a concert?

[–] treadful@lemmy.zip 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Title disappointment. The hate is not over it being a MAGA event, but it being poorly managed.

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 9 points 1 week ago

You say that as if the two aren't synonymous.

"Fml. You people suck a--!"

Sounds about right.

Screw any band doing this. I hate this whole thing. It's made me rethink even wanting to see Shinedown after their drummers comments about Ludacris pulling out. Even with their statement after, they didn't seem to cover the drummers comments.

Oh good lord, what a bunch of freaking snowflakes. Last time I attended a outdoor concert and it rained, I went into the pit and mud and had a blast with no mental regrets.

Such alpha that I've come to expect from Texans and Republicans.

Pathetic.

What a bunch of whining snowflakes.
