It was during an ice storm and he lost control and drove across the median.

Looks like the truck skidded sideways into the beam support, knocked it over, and then the beam fell on the truck.
so he drove through a metal rail while magically not damaging the front of his truck... how?
I think the damage would be on the other side of the truck than the one we see in the photo.
