You know damn well that he is gayer than mayor mcgayerson at the gay day parade during gaytowns gay days celebration gala. A self hating gay man. That’s really the tragedy. Now, everyone is the enemy and all he can do is spread the toxicity.

Does that count as a death threat?
Is there a polymarket where I can bet how long it'll be before Kegbreath's "pastor" is caught with CSAM?
Thoughts and prayers, but bad ones
Its thoughts and curses when they are bad.
Can anyone just do that? Let me try..."God, please kill Hegseth's pastor!"
Also, if your pastor is calling for the killing of other people, I've got some bad news for you about your church and you being "Christian"
If only it could be so easy.
Ostensibly, the only significant difference between a megachurch pastor and the end-times-sign-holding street corner crier is audience approval.
We could all try to wish Cancer upon them
Can we wish with donations of asbestos?
A plague of crabs upon their houses!
Orcs? He has mixed up his fiction.
Isn't that the robox oof guy?
You're thinking of Tommy Tallarico.
No but I have to remind myself every time he shows up.
That said oof guy might try taking credit for his achievements
His Mom is very proud!
Surely if a church cannot support a political candidate without losing tax-exempt status, then calling for the death of a candidate should mean they lose tax exemption and then pay double taxes.
The tax exempt thing should really be reformed
The first time I really thought about it, I was surprised that churches were willing to let the government tell them what they were allowed to preach in exchange for money.
But then I realized that it was proof that all churches are scams. If you're a tax exempt church in America, then you're doing it for the money, not because it is morally right.
Eliminated, you say? I agree.
These people are sick.
You mean that's not what Jesus would do?
Probably is what Jesus would do.
The only reason he wasn’t a white supremacist is that he wasn’t white.
, or hateful, or murderous.
Hegseth's pastor is a heretic.
Brooks Potteiger, Hegseth's pastor:
Public enemies. These are the Orcs at the gates. You are not called to love the barbarian horde that is planning to break into your city and pillage, plunder, rape, and mutilate you and your people. You don’t love that horde.
Jesus Christ, Matthew 5:43-45:
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Beat me to it. Blatant heresy. Directly and completely contradicts biblical canon and principals from the altar. He's a liar, a hypocrite, and a vile human being. Of course Hegseth goes to that guy's church.
Not only does he go to it. I can almost guarantee you based on the behavior of other fundamentalist Christians he probably directly sought this guy's church out for how extreme his views are.
The fact that his followers don't call him out for his insane bloodlust is very telling. These people don't even have a foundation in their own religion let alone any moral compass at all.
These hatemongers are undeserving of religious designation and should instead be labeled as the stochastic terrorists they are.
Religious people want to be told how to live/think. It's the exact same with the trump cult. "Why do they keep supporting him?" I hear all the time. Well, you see, there is no thinking going on there. Just thoughtless following. This keeps them from having to feel responsible for their choices.
If that shitstain you call God hasnt sent the child rapist in charge and all of the GOP leaders who have broken almost every rule to hell then it isn't going to send the rest of us.
Jesus literally taught and died to a people who hated Him and killed Him for His words. I understand this is Lemmy and people will dog on me for being a Christian, but I hope we can acknowledge that from your perspective we can separate the delusional (me) from these guys are actually just ghouls that twist who Jesus was.
The Bible has enough for unbelievers to hate without people making stuff up.
Jesus was a doomsday cultist who believed literally that God's kingdom was on earth as in people were going to raise from the dead.
This is the reason for his faked resurrection by his followers. To fulfill this insane prophecy and also explains why the authorities at the time were so suspect of the "prince of peace".
Without this context his story is confusing and makes no sense.
Well the followers faked his resurrection because he died without having done the world domination thing that the messiah was supposed to do.
Don’t worry, he just ran out for smokes. He’ll be back soon and start doing all the messianic things then.
You’re not delusional. You read the book, and you believe in something. No one should have a problem with that.
I don’t think the guy in the article read the book or believes in anything. Seems like he’s pretty much shit.
Christian Nationalism is quite the oxymoron, isn't it?
Have you ever looked at what the messiah was supposed to do?
The messiah was supposed to be a king of the line of David who was supposed to defeat the enemies of Israel, and lead the nation to subjugate the entire world and usher in a new age of “peace.”
Jesus said, himself, that he would bring in that new age of peace and toss everyone who wasn’t his followers into fire for eternal torment.
It’s unsurprising that nationalism crops up… even if Jesus wasn’t, uh, you know. Christian.
Yeah, and? Have you ever looked at what Jesus commanded his followers to do?
One of the scribes came up and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, “What commandment is the foremost of all?” Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:28-31 NASB)
What Jesus said, when addressing the idea of people who would be thrown into fire, was this:
Depart from Me, you accursed people, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or as a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it for one of the least of these, you did not do it for Me, either.’ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matthew 25:41-46 NASB)
Those are the people being eternally tormented - those who would not serve the least of these.
There's so much more to expound on as well.
Jesus, in his Sermon on the Mount:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:3-10 NASB)
Later, in Acts, Peter meets a centurion, who is the first Gentile to receive the Holy Spirit:
When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell at his feet and worshiped him. But Peter helped him up, saying, “Stand up; I, too, am just a man.” As he talked with him, he entered and found many people assembled. And he said to them, “You yourselves know that it is forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner; and yet God has shown me that I am not to call any person unholy or unclean." (Acts 10:25-28 NASB)
The Messiah was indeed prophesied to defeat the enemies of Israel. He was also prophesied to be rejected by the people of Israel.
For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot,
And like a root out of dry ground; He has no stately form or majesty
That we would look at Him,
Nor an appearance that we would take pleasure in Him.
He was despised and abandoned by men,
A man of great pain and familiar with sickness;
And like one from whom people hide their faces,
He was despised, and we had no regard for Him.
However, it was our sicknesses that He Himself bore;
And our pains that He carried;
Yet we ourselves assumed that He had been afflicted,
Struck down by God, and humiliated.
But He was pierced for our offenses,
He was crushed for our wrongdoings;
The punishment for our well-being was laid upon Him,
And by His wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:2-5 NASB)
I won't say the problem isn't organized religion.
Which would also line up with how Jesus acted toward the Pharisees and Sadducees.
From the Sermon on the Mount:
And when you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they will be seen by people. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. But as for you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. (Matthew 6:5-6 NASB)
Later, in the Temple:
Then they came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple area and began to drive out those who were selling and buying on the temple grounds, and He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves; and He would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple grounds. And He began to teach and say to them, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.” And the chief priests and the scribes heard this, and they began seeking how to put Him to death; for they were afraid of Him, because all the crowd was astonished at His teaching. (Mark 11:15-18 NASB)
Jesus showed up, flipped the script on organized religion, and they killed him. I do think Christian Nationalism is an oxymoron. It makes a show of faith and positions a government as an authority of God. This is not what Jesus commanded.
Therefore Pilate entered the Praetorium again, and summoned Jesus and said to Him, “You are the King of the Jews?” Jesus answered, “Are you saying this on your own, or did others tell you about Me?” Pilate answered, “I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests handed You over to me; what have You done?” Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.” Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this purpose I have been born, and for this I have come into the world: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.” (John 18:33-37 NASB)
Bonus Verses:
Jesus said to him, “If you want to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property. And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” (Matthew 19:21-24 NASB)
"Jesus said, 'My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.'"
I have no ill will towards Christians, so long as they aren't moralizing hypocrites or pushing theocracy onto others. Jesus is a pretty dope figure. I admire those who follow that example. It is heretics like this that lie about doctrine and teach hate that give Christianity the taint that it has.
I'm an atheist, but that doesn't make us enemies. Not necessarily. Growing up, if someone said God bless you, I just said thanks. And if someone said Merry Christmas to Jews or Muslims, the point was that it was wishing someone well, right? And if someone wanted to say Grace, I just bowed my head and listened politely.
But long about the mid-80's, evangelicals decided that just my existence, or that of Jews or Muslims or Buddhists, was somehow persecuting them even though I'd never said a bad word about them, and frankly felt more kinship to them than those traditions that were foreign to me.
Circumstances have taught me that we are all united in a struggle to survive, to lift one another up and thus lift ourselves up, and leave a better world behind than the one we entered. And that includes people with whom I disagree — sometimes vehemently.
I think faith is a dangerous thing, but for some it can be ennobling. Whatever issues I might have with doctrine and dogma, people who truly embrace the teachings of Jesus in the Bible are my brother in cause, if not in spirit ('cause I don't believe in that stuff).
Why does this guy look like a 16 year old with a Dollar Tree mustache?
Because of that awful genz 70s stache
I bet he diddles kids.
He's a jesus-freak, the statistically most likely person on earth to diddle kids outside of trump's circle
KILL people!
-Pro Lifers!
I call for God to kill Hegseth's pastor. He's clearly a Devil worshiper. If you follow a religion of hate, you're worshiping Satan. Most Evangelical Christians worship the Devil.
Not so sure.. when I read the Bible God's killing people right and left, sometimes out of vengeance, anger, spite, and more. If anything the Satan guy seems heck of a lot more chill.
Any minute now, I'm sure.
Anyone for cribbage?
I didn’t know James Talarico was a priest…
As in "Who will rid me of this turbulent" one? He kind of is, actually.
Many well-educated people will not get this for the obvious reason, but . . .
People who are not in rural areas have almost no idea just how HARD and for how long this Trump shit has been pushed in the churches, to the point that right now, any person of the Christian faith who also drank the Kool-Aid and is deeply involved in the "Christian" politics of the right wing is thrust into a real and immediate crisis of conscience if they even think about leaving the politics. And this is by design.
Meanwhile, James Talarico, a very vanilla, scandal-free, middle-of-the-road Christian whose actual faith appears to be genuine and unimpeachable is speaking out, saying the two are NOT the same, and in doing so is providing a very specific off-ramp for people who have confused/conflated the cult of Trump with the cult of Christ, which the politicians and propagandists did deliberately so that even the thought of leaving the cult of Trump could be punished with the fear of hellfire.
In short, Talarico is incredibly dangerous to the shaky right wing because he's specifically laying a path for anyone who wants off the Trump train to still believe they can be a Christian.
And that's why the Pharisees need him to die. But not kill him themselves, because that would be a sin. Unless God did it himself, in his mercy. Or maybe someone else might get the job done, a heretic or infidel or unemployed guy down at the Walmart parking lot. So they're not gonna sin themselves, they're just gonna pray for a holy hitman of some kind, because that's alright. But not before they dehumanize him with literally fictional language describing him as an orc and unbeliever ("barbarian") because otherwise someone might remember there's a commandment against killing somewhere that doesn't apply to fictional monsters and infidels, or something.
Don't come at me, I'm not a believer, just an explainer, lol
And so meddlesome... smhead
