That seems like it would be a really huge deal, like monumentally bad news for the things-never-happen crowd. Or am I missing something?

I mean it works great against improvised rockets made out of literally garbage and aimed manually which is all it was designed for

Historians in 3026: The iron dome was of course a myth, iron is an exceptionally dense and brittle metal entirely impractical with which to construct a dome of this scale. It is believed that if any dome structure existed at all it would likely have been constructed of polymers perpaps with steel or engineered wood supports.

Meanwhile, The History Channel in 3026 is doing crappy CGI visualizations of a literal dome of iron covering Israel, with crackpot pseudo-academics being interviewed describing how mainstream historians have been actively covering up the truth.

We have numerous surviving references to Gaza as an "open air prison. We must ask; why did these chroniclers put such emphasis on "open air" if not to contrast against the iron dome of Israel? Did those living in it consider the iron dome itself to be a gilded cage that imprisoned the occupiers just as they imprisoned the occupied? Is this perhaps a real life inspiration for legends such as the man in the iron mask?

I think it worked on much less sophisticated weapons and they did not keep up production and stockpiling over the years of Gazan genocide. And I don't think they expected Hezbollah to be more organized and capable after the beeper attacks, and I really think they underestimated Iran.

After years of trying to convince themselves and others that this is a holy war, I'm not surprised they thought this would be a cakewalk because "God"

I think the things-never-happen crowd has had pretty slim pickings for the past couple weeks

A coper would say "oh well it's not meant to deal with missiles and they have other systems for bigger missiles," and while that's technically true, it seems clear that the interception rate is not what it was 1 month or 1 year ago
