I love to be part of such a serious society full of intellectual integrity

Seen this a lot today, and the other one I’ve seen a lot today is that the school was in a military base so it’s actually irans fault all those kids died

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 11 points 1 month ago

There's a lot of US military bases with schools nearby in the heartland of Amerikkka, I wonder of they'd be okay if they got bombed too, and then we blamed the US army for it?

[–] LeninWalksTheEarth@hexbear.net 20 points 1 month ago

Iran can't shoot down perfect fighter USA jets, but also it's bombs it's own kids. America doesn't do anything wrong.

[–] xijinpingist@hexbear.net 20 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Why are you watching CNN? I mean, seriously? Russia Today is more trustworthy.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Background noise in the kitchen while I eat dinner, lol, but yes you are correct.

[–] xijinpingist@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Wow, people still watch actual television?
Why? CNN is on pay cable, I haven't seen cable in ages. Listen to podcasts, you can pause them and resume any time. I listen while doing the dishes or laundry or whatever.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

My dad pays for cable so I get cnn shrug-outta-hecks

[–] xijinpingist@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Try to turn him on to podcasts. I got my mom off of cable unsolved mysteries and onto Youtube real crime channels and she loves it.
Ask an AI about his interests and subscribe him to channels he'd like without asking.

[–] TrustedFeline@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago

This might result in blowback and your dad finds other youtube channels/podcasts that turn him into a nazi

[–] spectre@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

Podcasts are too dangerous, if dad speaks English he can watch hasan watch CNN with him.

Well yeah, if you want a decent size amd quality screen or are watching something with someone else most people are going to stream to a TV. Unless you just mean cable or like... broadcast TV in which case yeah I agree, I haven't seen that for years because that stuff was enshittified loooong ago.

Wait a minute, actually no. I can't be that hard on TV anymore considering how YouTube and Shortform video platforms have become 90% "AI generated baby walks off a cliff" style algo-slop.

Damn, is there any good media anymore? Is everything just going to be shitty social media slop now? Maybe my algorithm just sucks because that shortform shit is boring to me.

Maybe I should try getting back into podcasts. I haven't listened to podcasts in years. Any good recommendations?

Sorry that turned into a ramble. I'm just getting fed up with the media landscape and you sound like you might know where I can find some stuff that isn't totally terrible.

[–] xijinpingist@hexbear.net 1 points 1 month ago

Creators have to show their faces. Anything that is text and images is AI slop. It gets generated by the thousands every day on every subject and Youtube doesn't care because it makes money for them.

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is CNN one of the news outlets that has been compromised by the regime?

[–] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 19 points 1 month ago (11 children)

Any idea how to counter this argument? Because I've been hearing that too, and I don't know what to say other than obviously that's stupid.

[–] Doubledee@hexbear.net 26 points 1 month ago

If they're arguing in good faith remind them that they did this with Gaza too. They did this early on and then proceeded to destroy every single hospital in Gaza deliberately. These people have no qualms about bombing civilians and should not be given the benefit of the doubt, they have been targeting Iranian civilians deliberately for years.

Basically it's fog of war, unless we have a reason to believe something different we should assume the school and hospital bombers bombed the school.

all major US new is State Dept propaganda. The 9/11 hijackers were Saudi, yet we went to Iraq and Afghanistan, only for oil, Israel and proximity to Iran. The country that beats up and murders protesters and immigrants and constantly is rolling back womens rights is worried about Muslims(protesters and women mostly) in another country? yea ok.

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

The same people going to Epstein's island are the ones trying to tell you that Iran attacked their own schools. Don't fall for their bullshit, the people who care the least about child welfare in the entire world are the ones trying to pin the blame on Iran, after they already admitted to it and are now backtracking and lying after people were disgusted.

[–] TheLastHero@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

just call it bullshit first of all because it is. But even if it was an misfired Iranian missile (its not), it would be America's fault because they are the aggressor who started this war

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Agreed, if it is actually due to some sort of failure, fault still goes to the instigator.

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If we were chilling on my couch and a murderous cyborg bear came busting in my front door and I accidentally shot you while hip-drawing my bazooka nobody would be like “oh this isn’t the bear’s fault, in fact this makes it so much your fault that we aren’t even going to mention the bear being there.”

[–] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 1 points 1 month ago

So true lol

multiple elementary schools were bombed, they bombed elementary schools afterwards too

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

My counter is that once you lose credibility, you lose the benefit of the doubt and gain the burden of proof. So my counter is quite simply: prove it.

[–] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 1 points 1 month ago

I don't understand how people still belive the US or Israel whenever they say something without proof after they've been proven to lie over and over . It boggles the mind.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

AND HAMAS WERE UNDER THE SCHOOL

What is more believable to people? That Israel bombed kids or that Iran bombed kids? Bet you people come out against Israel.

https://www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/2026/3/3/questions-over-minab-girls-school-strike-as-israel-us-deny-involvement

this is a very good breakdown of the airstrike. the only thing it doesn't do is cite the dahiya doctrine and note that killing the children of a bunch of IRGC soldiers is exactly the kind of thing that imperial genocidaires would do to hurt iranian morale. I believe AJE is more credible here also because it is a qatar based news outlet, and with the cessation of LNG production, qatar destroyed their economy for the foreseeable future as a direct result of iranian attacks.

[–] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 1 points 1 month ago

Ooh Saving this

[–] mar_k@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago

good amount of sources here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Minab_school_airstrike

Misinformation

Following the attack, Israeli and Iranian pro-Monarchist opposition pages began disseminating information that the airstrike was a failed IRGC interception. These claims originated from associated Telegram channels and were debunked.

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago

I was there I saw the Iranian missile pull the babies out of the incubator and put them into ovens while paragliding over a Free Parking sign and the missile

The missile was laughing

Every hour or so the jazz station I listen to plays clips from the BBC/local public radio news and I regularly have to turn it off in rage. They were just recently talking about the effects of the “crisis in the Middle East” on gas prices monke-rage - previously have used similar weaselly language to talk about the Venezuela invasion, genocide in Gaza, but of course always present it as “Russia’s War on THE Ukraine™️”. Anyway - it’s been a good excuse to dust off the old CD collection

(But in case anyone was wondering, i like tapes more than CDs)
