And, my favorite, "all'a y'all".

Example 1:
"Fuck all'a y'all!"

Example 2:
"We're having a party and all'a y'all are invited."

The correctly punctuated version actually somehow has even more fucking apostrophes…

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

I know y'all're gonna hate me for this, but y'all've'nt told me y'alls stance on contractions

And for the dismount as you leave:

[–] moakley@lemmy.world 29 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I like the preantepenultimate one, and I'm not just saying that to use the word.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

That would 100% be a legitimate enough reason, though 😁

[–] AnarchistArtificer@slrpnk.net 4 points 1 month ago

"preantepenultimate [...], and I'm not just saying that to use the word."

Whatever your reasons, I'm glad you used that word, because it's a damn good word and I'm putting it on my list of good words (a silly project that I've had for a few years now)

There was discussion about what the NYC subway announcements should say instead of "ladies and gentlemen".

My vote was "listen up you little shits, [this train is going express until canal Street or whatever]"

I think they went with "everyone", however.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 month ago

Another choice would be "Hey! We're drivin' heah!"

[–] huppakee@piefed.social 25 points 1 month ago (4 children)

How are you? Fine, thank you.

Ohmygah!

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 month ago

Hi everybody! But only ever in Dr. Nick’s voice.

[–] Fizz@lemmy.nz 5 points 1 month ago

Hello everynyan

[–] missingno@fedia.io 18 points 1 month ago (1 children)

"Hey ladies, hey fellas, and the people that don't give a FUCK" - inclusive king Fred Durst

[–] A7thStone@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

In not going to say Limp Bizkit sucks, you know it, I know it, I'm not going to say it.

HI DR. NICK!

[–] tiredofsametab@fedia.io 17 points 1 month ago

I like J Kenji Lopze-Alt's "Guys, Gals, and non-binary pals" for inclusivity and being not overly-formal. Then again, I'm a cishet guy so feel free to point out any flaws I may not see.

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

In undergrad I had an O-Chem Prof, from England, who would start each class by gathering our collective attention with, "Oi, You Lot!". Awesome and Epic

"Kings and Queens and In-betweens"

"Theydies and gentlethem"

Alright everybody, be cool, this is a robbery.

“Hi”

My social skills are beyond your comprehension

[–] gmtom@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

Girls gays and theys isn't trying to be inclusive at all though?

It's basically a way to say "anyone that isn't a straight man"

[–] hedge_lord@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

"Attention Bajoran workers"

[–] captain_oni@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 month ago

"Hey bitches, and bros and non-binary hoes!"

[–] TomMasz@piefed.social 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Now I'm remembering the smell of K-Mart: A mix of rancid popcorn oil and cigarettes.

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 month ago

And piss, don't forget the piss.

[–] djdarren@piefed.social 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

perfectly inclusive, only excludes non cunts, and who wants to speak to them?

[–] princess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 month ago

"Attention, duelists!" <- my hair

[–] LastYearsIrritant@sopuli.xyz 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

What's poppin, primates?

[–] FinjaminPoach@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Lads, lasses and lessers <--- queerphobic version

And when addressing an individual instead of the crowd:

"You there! No, not you, the other one!"

[–] Turnhose@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Meine Damen und Herren und alle dazwischen und außerhalb. :)

“Hey y’all!”

Texas may have more (far, far more) than it’s fair share of problems, but y’all is gender neutral and works both as singular and plural.

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

How large of a group is required before you'd say: Hey all y'all

[–] dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net 5 points 1 month ago

I think it’s more about group density. 1,000 people in an auditorium is “hey y’all,” 100 people at a park is “hey all y’all”

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

"Sup motherfuckers"

[–] Slashme@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

I prefer Jan Böhmermann's version:

Meine Damen und Herren und alle dazwischen und außerhalb

(Ladies and gentlemen and all in between and beyond)

[–] archonet@lemy.lol 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

I've always been partial to "ladies, boys, and ladyboys..." myself.

[–] slothrop@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

<..googles aunty penny...>

I concur!

[–] alt_xa_23@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Friends, enemies, and frenemies

[–] AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago

IDK what others think of it, but I like "Laddies ( or however you spell that plural of lad ), Lasses, and Lasso's" from The Click.

[–] Nima@leminal.space 2 points 1 month ago

"Alright, chat!"
