of stealing. A judge ruled that the cook did not intend to steal the food and awarded her $46,000.

An old boy named, I think, uh, Marx, talked about this. How the worker isn't even entitled to the fruits of their labor.

if I were corporate, I'd fire that manager for wasting everyone's time with this bullshit.

Seriously. The fries and drink are literally 5% of the total cost to make that meal. A 24 year veteran BK worker is worth their weight in gold, that manager might as well be a fucking customer compared to them.

Probably thought they were slick picking on someone who's esl (assuming she's an immigrant to Canada) and be pricks.

Which is why you'd never be promoted to corporate.

We throw away at least 30Ib of food EVERY MEAL but are no longer allowed to take any home at all and I really wish someone would murder my boss over it

what a joke. people ate shit all the time at burger king when i worked there.

if you have a particularly hard-ass boss who thinks they're going to lay down the rules, you just make a mistake burger that no one wants, wait the 15 minutes for it to expire and then you go eat it.

Yeah I've worked food service and eating stuff was a perk of the job.

my friends used to ping me when they knew i was at work and then swing by 15 minutes later to pick up some free burgers and shit out the back door lol

Same. Even my old piece of shit hog boss once said “Why’d you place an order lmao? Just make something before hand and don’t blow the cash.”

Sounds like some middle manager on a power trip.

I used to work at panera, they always have leftover soups at the end of the shift that you either put back in the freezer or throw away.

There was one day there was 1 spoonful of broccoli and cheddar soup left at the end of the day. I went in and scooped it out, ate that shit.

Manager was walking by and told me to meet him at the register and he charged me for a full cup's worth. I quit not long after that.

Got paid $8 an hour and served hundreds of customers during lunch rush who each paid like $12 on average, and they didn't even pay for our meals.

I worked for two years as a food preparer in a hospital patient kitchen. This was back in the late 2000s, as I was also a full-time college student.

Loved the job, got along with my coworkers.

Got fired by the one disciplinarian manager that everyone hated, for taking home plates of food from the warmers that were literally going right into the trash after the dinner shift

The fries and drink are literally 5% of the total cost to make that meal. Get that fucking manager an education and fire his ass
