Rules:

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

As was bussing Trump supporters to DC for the January 6th riots.
And bussing supporters and political operatives to Florida for the Brooks Brothers riot that stopped a vote recount and essentially handed Republicans the presidency in 2000.
They've been refining these tactics - while baselessly accusing their opponents of using them - for decades. The "victory at any cost" mentality took over because its adherents kept winning due to nobody prosecuting them for their blatant crimes.
It's all projection. They need to do it to win, so they assume everyone else is doing it
If protesters were paid, I'd be one of the 1%. I've been boycotting Nestle for DECADES.
Not that they can come to logical conclusions, but have they ever considered who is supposedly paying them if all the billionaires and corporations are supporting Trump and the fascist government?
It's all valid projection. The Jan 6 folks had free bussing and likely many were paid. Republicans are trained to accuse others of the very things they do. The criminals don't worry now that the commander in crime and pedophilia has their backs.
I was browsing conservative accounts on X with xcancel and other nitter instances yesterday to get a feeling on their reaction about the attacks on the 2nd amendment. What shocked me the most was how many of them had questionable content of underage girls in their feeds, it’s really disgusting.

It isn't about the ball. The point is large muscular men in tight shiny pants continously bending over immediately before piling on top of each other only to start the sequence over a minute later.

Trees exploding in the cold isn't an urban myth. I've heard it, and seen the aftermath. It's gotta be really cold. Like -40 cold, but ya fact, not myth.

Yes, exploding trees are real. The sap in them freezing is what causes them to explode, although maybe the confusion is that people expect a fireball or smoke when something explodes? I don't know, but I've seen a lot of people saying it's an urban legend even though it's real.

When it gets real cold the trees make like popping and cracking noises. But we don't get -40 below here, got to -25 just a few days back though. Anything below 0 I hear the noises occasionally from the trees.
I think the urban myth part was some of the photos being shared that showed very dramatic results. There was one right here on lemmy that someone posted from the wikipedia page on exploding trees without bothering to read its caption - it that had been destroyed by a lightning strike.

Where does one apply to be paid to protest? With the number of Americans living paycheck to paycheck I would love to be able to direct them to a resource that will provide them some support while they stand up to tyranny.
