SO FUCKING DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT YOU COWARDS

Arrest those obstructing and toss their ass in a cell until you've processed your crime scene.

Standing back and crying 'they won't let us' makes you complicit in this blatant criminal cover-up. The federal government WILL NOT do anything about this. States must take action or you WILL be destroyed.

I genuinely do not understand how america hasn't decended into civil war already.

Everyday I tell my family I'm unbelievably grateful that we don't live In America (🇨🇦), because I would have used my right to bear arms long ago and gotten myself killed with a total lack of support by my neighbours. I've spent the last two weeks thinking about different ways I could douse these fuckers in gasoline to burn them alive; or ways I could trap my property to inflict maximum damage to invaders.

I don't even live there and I'm absolutely outraged over what America is experiencing/doing to itself.

I just don't understand. How can you watch your friends, family, and neighbours being executed in the streets only to buy a whistle and yell at them a bit. I get that you're afraid; but at this point your desire to survive should overcome that fear... Yes, there's the threat of Marshal law, but it's being imposed on you whether they officially announce it or not. There are federal agents patrolling your streets arresting EVERYONE that's not visibly white AND carrying papers, including 3yo children, and shipping them out of state faster than the courts can issue injunctions (even when moving as fast as possible with emergency hearings).

YOU ARE ALREADY UNDER MARSHAL LAW. You're being kidnapped and summarily executed. This will not end until you fight it off.

I don't expect this to be a popular opinion; but I had to get it off my chest. Perhaps this should have been in the OffMyChest comm... I'm just so fucking angry and have no real outlet for it. There's not much I can do from across the border; and I'm sure as hell not visiting anytime soon.

Don’t vote for facists because I’ve read that Canada and Europe has a facist problem too

i think the difference is that us statesians who agree with you have had a bit longer to consider and are making slower, more cautious moves

I've never seen a single ICE agent in my life (despite being in one of the top 3 states in terms of "undocumented" immigrants). So I'd imagine a lot of it is simply an "out-of-sight, out-of-mind" for a lot of people. It may be the case that Alex was the only person armed with a gun at that scene (other than ICE, if you consider those people).

You’re being kidnapped and summarily executed. This will not end until you fight it off.

Agreed. I know when things escalate, I'm certainly in the group who've they've been building lists for as someone they consider an undesirable. I consider trying to flee, but I think partly there's still a side of me that wants to believe it won't get to that point so I can just get through living day to day.

Civil war is coming. That's Trump's goal. The administration's hate speech is constant and increasingly more aggressive. Their actions are increasingly more violent, and the law has been tossed away.

Things are going to get much uglier quickly. The price of gold is sky rocketing because investors don't trust the dollar anymore. It's a scary reality.

Then arrest them for obstruction...

If you don't, they'll keep obstructing.

These are the type of people who need immediate consequences to understand they can't do something. We've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.

[–] TheReturnOfPEB@reddthat.com 8 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

The thing that makes them stupid is not their relationship with the land.

It is their relationship with ethics. They don't see "making everything worse" as a stupidity. They thrive off of living in a reaction, and our need to generate a "response" gives them more time to be reactionary.

General strike is the only thing non-violent to do. Stop the cycle.

Stop buying from US oligarchs immediately.

Cancel Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, cable, iCloud, everything that is not necessary.

No consumption until this stops is a big part of the solution.

Encourage people in other countries to start (or continue, as many of us already do) boycotting US companies, too.

Hit them where it hurts them the most, they are dependent on the support of the US oligarchy.

This isn't a new problem, and those weren't my original words...

Like, literally, the same type of people Blazing Saddles made fun of 50 years ago are the people in ICE today.

They're poor and uneducated and don't understand they're the problem. That doesn't mean they don't need stopped, but stopping them is easier when we understand why they're so shitty. Even if they're individually lost causes, we can at least narrow down the percentage in the next generation, but only if we understand why this keeps happening

Love how it says "latest" because there's been more than one 🙃 People of Minnesota (and U.S. in general), I'm so sorry for the loved ones that you're losing. This isn't just an injustice to the American society but to a family who has lost one of their members. Regardless of which side you stand on, that remains a fact. I feel bad for Charlie Kirk's children as well because they've lost a father, I'm no hypocrite, but I know that some are incapable of being impartial on something as human and tragic as grief. The world will move on but these family members will carry this loss with them for the rest of their lives.

Yes, I'm a sensitive person, what gave me away?

[–] jaaake@lemmy.world 8 points 14 hours ago

I hate headlines that say "latest shooting." Don't they realize that's gonna be really confusing in another few days?
