It's particularly damning because a search for ghraib will turn up previous posts including this image that weren't removed. So the removal is entirely political and based on the mod's supporting this trend of posts which this one is mocking and opposed to.

Reddit mods are always political. Ghraib is okay to mention if it's to criticise some republican schmuck but not when its onbamna time
