I watched a stream and while I can see that it is technically beautiful and must have been a shitload of work I find that it looks cluttered and has this strong uncanny valley vibe to it for me.

I think that the art style isn't for me. Elden Ring is so beautiful imo.

Holy shit. I guess I really do have to play it. Elden ring is my #1, my favourite game ever.

They are very different games so do not take it as a falling on anyone's part if you do not enjoy Expedition 33.

Get it through steam and if you're not feeling it after 2 hours maybe refund. Or your can keep the purchase as a way to support the developers.

I'm honestly not sure if 2 hours is enough. The prologue is very long, and features only one actual fight, which is not sufficient to get a good feel for the extremely crucial dodge/party mechanics.

All the people going "yea it was good, but there are better games!" are missing the point. Sure there are better games, or better stories, but Expedition 33 is a work of art. The soundtrack alone is amazing I often play it in the background when I'm working. Not because I'm nostalgic for the game, but simply because it's beautiful. And the graphics/backgrounds are incredibly well done, I can count on one hand the number of games that have made me stop and just... Sit for a while, taking in the view. Expedition 33 does that multiple times, even hours into the game in Act III, I'm still finding areas that make me stop and just go "Wow..."

When looking at it as just a game, it's still great. 9/10. Not the absolute best game or most engaging gameplay ever, but still very well done and a lot of fun. It's everything else that propels it into 10/10.

I'm still planning on playing more of it but it hasn't clicked for me yet. The music is alright though, that being said I've had other game soundtracks in my head lately.

That's a little far in my opinion. Expedition 33 is excellent, yes, but Elden Ring is a generational masterpiece.
