If it's windy it's going to spread far and if it isn't it's going to linger. It stinks and most people can smell it.

I've been using darktable for about a month now, way better than the bank Photoshop raw editing I've been doing in the year or so since I started actual photography.

I wish we did more exchanging with Canadia, it's a shame.

I think the common mistake is projecting our own thoughts onto a hypothetical. They try to put themselves in that situation, "if I had this much money I would do all these things" but the truth is that to be in that position there is a fundamental lack of humanity required and it's not easy to just disregard that.

Oh I downloaded Zelda totk a week before it came out just so I could play it for 5 minutes on an emulator, so I totally get that. Still haven't finished botw...

There's some weird appearances of contemporary art too. Pretty sure Vincent van Gogh works appear in chapterhouse.

I think the movie improved on the books by having some neat visuals. I enjoyed it but I still think it was Andy Weir's weakest book.

That's still insanely cheap, went to get actual petrol for the first time in 3 years and it's about £1.60/l in Scotland.

619 dollars for one oil? I'm guessing it's 6.19/l (or maybe even gallon? Who knows with these) but wow these are awkward to read.

Yeah it's a lot easier to eat less calories than it is to burn off that many. 100 calories is like a bag of crisps or so (depends on what) but 100 calories is also about 10 minutes of running which is a lot more work than just eating less. Not that you shouldn't run but if you're trying to lose weight it has a much bigger impact to stay at a calorie deficit.

First time I can remember seeing one of these, not sure I got any particularly good pictures of them though, this is the only one with any focus. Shot with a Sony A7R2 on a Canon 70-300 DO IS@ 300mm, 1/800, f10, ISO 800 in Buckinghamshire, UK during April 2026.

Caught this starling sitting there with feathers out, not the best picture but it settled down shortly after.

Taken in Buckinghamshire, UK, March 2026

Yeah I don't know why I didn't close the aperture down way more, there was plenty of light...

I've been taking random bird pictures for about a year now so thought I'd put some up in places where they get a bit more visibility. Here's a robin I found a few weeks ago. I also have no clue how to put a second image in the post so I'll probably put it as a comment. Small edit: Also forgot to add some details. This was taken in Wolverton, UK 03.03.2026
