oh haha I did not bother checking, still a good quote and very much in his style, who's it actually by?
He didn't die till 2005, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually by HST specifically in response to Iraq(but obvs applies generally and today)
It's from his last book Kingdom of Fear if I remember rightly. Possibly the most depressing of all, although full of darkly spot on pessimism about the American 21st Century.
Edit: It is. Here's a few more choice lines...
Sane is rich and powerful. Insane is wrong and poor and weak. The rich are free, the poor are put in cages. Res Ipsa Loquitur, amen. Mahalo.
The real power in America is held by a fast-emerging new Oligarchy of pimps and preachers who see no need for Democracy or fairness or even trees, except maybe the ones in their own yards, and they don't mind admitting it. They worship money and power and death. Their ideal solution to all the nation's problems would be another 100 Year War.
There are always risks in challenging excessive police power, but the risks of not challenging it are more dangerous, even fatal.
I know the path we're on is incredibly obvious but yeah that's bleak as hell
Oh for some reason I thought it was earlier, OK yeah could've been him then.
Damn, there sure are many times in US history from the last 70 years this quote could've applied to.

Ah, I get your point now. I misread your comment. Carry on.
Killer whores sounds way cooler than America deserves. I can't help but hear killer whores and think of a reimagined Jack the Ripper storyline where 19th century London prostitutes avenge their murdered friends, and then imagine a reactionary YouTuber screaming about how woke it is.
Punk band name
Reminds me of this shirt I have. 2 of the coolest writers to ever do it imo

Cool quote, typography gore tho wow
Yeah it's a bit hard to read hahahaha I took the pic while working from home so I just snapped it and posted
America delenda est
And he said he lost the ability to write after sitting out the Thriller in Manilla fight
We have become
