Interesting bit of psychology how CHUDs will always insist they represent the majority, regardless of evidence. They hold their views to be a part of the in group, not because they actually ultimately believe in anything other than fucking people over to get ahead themselves. They never hold a belief because they think it is morally right, it is always because they think believing it will benefit them, and they justify that by insisting everyone else "secretly" supports that idea too.

"We are the voice of the silent majority!" yells the guy whose presence at a family gathering requires people to come up with a strategy for dinner

"Everyone is in support of this" yell people who have children that no longer call or visit

hold on we need to check what dr oz thinks about ice

I would shoot him on the buttocks for sullying my last name if I wasn't banned from entering the US.

Senator hitler comes out in support of gestapo.

[–] thefunkycomitatus@hexbear.net 30 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This is going to be close to the mainstream Dem position going into mid-terms and 2028. We're within 6-8 months of a non-Fetterman praising Trump like "It was a little rough at the beginning but he really managed to get ICE under control and do good work."

[–] into_highest_invite@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

starting to think the best outcome would be if trump refuses to leave office so everyone else has to make the president increasingly impotent

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 9 points 1 day ago

You don't really think they would actually stop giving him power at that point do you?

[–] CrawlMarks@hexbear.net 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Excited for the DNC's public turn against liberals

[–] kleeon@hexbear.net 21 points 2 days ago

It's already happening. All the whining about "the groups" is just that - a rejection of mainstream liberalism

Unconditional support to depression in its protracted people's war against John Fetterman. Hasta la victoria siempre

[–] microfiche@hexbear.net 25 points 2 days ago (1 children)

once again proving the correlation between head injuries and republicanism.

he should be run out of town on a rail.

[–] derry@midwest.social 13 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Interesting term, run out of town on a rail. From Wikipedia: Riding the rail (also called being "run out of town on a rail") was a punishment most prevalent in the United States in the 18th and 19th centuries in which an offender was made to straddle a fence rail held on the shoulders of two or more bearers. The subject was then paraded around town or taken to the city limits and dumped by the roadside.

A story attributed to Abraham Lincoln has him quoting a victim of being ridden out of town on a rail as having said, "If it weren't for the honor of the thing, I'd just as soon it happened to someone else."

[–] LetterLiker@hexbear.net 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That is interesting! I always enjoy a bit of etymology.

With that in mind we should probably go with the tried-and-true method of torches & pitchforks for Sideshow John. Can you imagine trying to haul his ass around town on a board?

[–] derry@midwest.social 4 points 1 day ago

Tar and feathering was another method of dealing with shitheads. Usually done right before riding them out of town on a rail.

it's always struck me as a pretty hard rebuke of a person and all they stand for, as outdated as it is.

I would genuinely like to see that happen to him.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 7 points 2 days ago

they did it to Skinner on that simpsons episode everybody hates

[–] elpaso@hexbear.net 20 points 2 days ago

Senators having a 6 year term and having no recall options was a horrible decision. Kristen Sinema and Fetterman are prime examples of this.

I need to get my passport card for when it becomes mandatory for everyone to carry papers. This shit’s not going anywhere

[–] sewer_rat_420@hexbear.net 16 points 2 days ago

Don't worry, if you remember to vote then you can be savagely beaten by female and LGBTQ gestapo as well

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 7 points 2 days ago

you'll also be able to use your concealed carry permit, but not your student ID.

[–] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 23 points 2 days ago

This country is so completely cooked

[–] manuallybreathing@lemmy.ml 14 points 2 days ago

The same consultants / agency that run ads for Gaham Platner, and Zohran Mamdani, and Sanders, also promotes Fetterman

wild stuff

[–] footfaults@lemmygrad.ml 21 points 2 days ago

I think the most frustrating part about this is that Fetterman is an extreme case of what Democrats do. They sell out their voters, but usually it's more subtle, and saying that Fetterman is an example of what the Democrats do, allows liberals to just write it off because of the stroke.

You're gonna need a walk in oven to roast this fking hog

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 18 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Has dem leadership had anything to say about fetterman or they just using him to see how much farther right they can get?

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

dem leadership

Schumer and co are probably the ones giving him instructions, no way he’s spelled ICE by himself.

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 2 days ago

Why I put how much further right they can go

[–] radio_free_asgarthr@hexbear.net 15 points 2 days ago

The villagers need to chase this homunculus with torch and pitchforks through his swamp to kill it with fire.

[–] kleeon@hexbear.net 12 points 2 days ago

Hopefully the next stroke gets him

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

this is the majority opinion.

You say that like its a good thing. That should be the ultimate sign a policy is wrong.

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 12 points 2 days ago

Regular reminder that it's blatantly not the majority opinion and most people object. Example poll has it as 53 vs 12 vs 35% for Disapprove vs Don't know/didn't answer vs Approve. Granted, that's still an alarmingly high number of people and the usual caveats for this type of polling still apply, but Fetterman is a liar.

Bet.

Deploy ICE to Pennsylvania.
