It's amazing, let's see if he's got enough sauce to fool the dullards that $40 for a bag of ground coffee is cool, normal, and good.

I thought this meme would be obsolete by now

Don't worry it'll stay relevant when Biden comes back and clinches the nomination in 2028

You people need to step away from the lathe. We need a 24/7 security detail on it at this point.

Let them eat Trump brand steaks instead

[–] segfault11@hexbear.net 36 points 2 months ago (2 children)

the chuds will buy into it, over the past year i've already seen some shrug off increasing prices as "just the way things go"

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 28 points 2 months ago

Yea he's been on a tear saying that affordability is a demonrat hoax.

[–] WokePalpatine@hexbear.net 24 points 2 months ago

A lot of them are fucking innumerate to begin with.

He does lol. His supporters are devoted, unconditionally so. They view him as the only thing stopping "communism" from taking over amerikkka

I recently got "so what if he's a pedophile" for the first time, which was interesting

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 25 points 2 months ago

if he does like last time and cuts everybody a check for a few grand, it legit won't matter.

i still think it's why trump won. he gave out a pretty sizable chunk of cash to everybody. twice! biden promised to do the same and then walked it back as soon as he got into office and scolded us like we were all grubby assholes for bringing it up.

shit like that is why the libs lost and why trump is the king of the GOP. when it's the libs turn to play santa with the money printer at xmas, they give everybody a skymall coupon for a travel toothbrush / calculator and a lecture about financial responsibility. daddy trump pushes a few grand in our hands and tells them they're wonderful human beings.

maga is grotesque and vicious, but i still remember how i felt when i saw that money hit my account. cha-fucking-ching. cash is king.

[–] LeeeroooyJeeenkiiins@hexbear.net 18 points 2 months ago

yeah like shit i need a new phone, a new car, and cool story probably a crown on a molar, with no prospects to really afford any of that, some trump bucks would really help out with that

I have the capacity to understand that they're my ideological enemies and just take the bag anyway but a lot of people will just remember the hand that feeds and so many people are so desperate for any assistance

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago

Trump is a monster but he’s like a vivacious living monster instead of the usual boneyard ghouls so he’s willing to cut a bullshit check to look cool. He cares about his appearance. The mortal cares for his flesh. The GOP of 2012 wouldn’t cut a check. The GOP after Trump won’t cut a check.

You understand it so I’m not lecturing you here but it cannot be overstated how the libs going back to the old politics and walking back the money was a monumental self-own. It’s a forgotten but huge stumbling block for the most stumbling president of all time.

[–] MarxMadness@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If the checks didn't get Trump over the line in 2020, it's hard for me to believe they had a big effect in 2024.

[–] came_apart_at_Kmart@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

probably because you forgot biden what was saying during the 2020 general election: that he was going to cut us all another big pandemic check and forgive everyone with student loans under $50K.

two specific short term promises that exceeded trumps first term cash payments.

but, once in office, biden abandoned both while simultaneously and unilaterally funding two very public proxy wars. the 2020 campaign was a bidding war of actual cash for votes. the 2020 biden admin was 180° from all of it.

it cannot be overstated how biden wildly biden reversed course from his 2020 campaign. we and anyone who paid attention to his career all knew biden was full of shit, but he really outdid himself as prez.

the way libs acted surprised about the 2024 election is a testament to their coordinated forgetting of what happened from 2020-2024.

[–] MarxMadness@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

I didn't forget that, but I also don't recall Trump making that an issue in 2024.

We often talk about how Democratic voters don't behave like they have much of a memory. I get the argument about the feeling of cash in hand and a promise for more, I just don't think it mattered that much four years later for an electorate that seems to operate mostly in the now.

[–] BioWarfarePosadist@hexbear.net 27 points 2 months ago (2 children)

The only thing that seems to have gone down is gas prices. But it makes me high suspect that Trump is doing his own Teapot Dome Scandal atm.

[–] Des@hexbear.net 53 points 2 months ago (1 children)

rapidly lowering gas prices = signs of a massive economic slowdown.

it's certainly not due to some massive buildout of public transportation supplemented by EVs and bicycle infrastructure agony

[–] vegeta1@hexbear.net 13 points 2 months ago

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah that was my thoughts too

[–] LeeeroooyJeeenkiiins@hexbear.net 19 points 2 months ago (1 children)

this one asshole gas station I drive by has had their shit posted at $2.99 non stop for the entire year and I really think it should be illegal since it's like 20-30 cents cheaper down the road, gas prices should be fucking regulated

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's probably the shittiest gas, too, lol

[–] LeeeroooyJeeenkiiins@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago (2 children)

for the first time ever I've seen a gas station that has "non-ethanol" gas listed and for some reason it's like $5 a gallon when they're selling regular gas (with ethanol) for 2.69 a gallon and I really wanna know what makes it worth almost twice the price per gallon when it's only a 10% content difference

[–] DerRedMax@hexbear.net 13 points 2 months ago

If you have a lawn mower, snow blower, weed wacker, or chainsaw or any other kind of small engine, non-ethanol gas is a must to prevent issues with the fuel filter, lines, carb, etc.

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 13 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I had to look it up, and it sounds like it lasts longer without going bad. So stuff that's used infrequently, like a generator, would probably be the use.
