It's amazing, let's see if he's got enough sauce to fool the dullards that $40 for a bag of ground coffee is cool, normal, and good.

if he does like last time and cuts everybody a check for a few grand, it legit won't matter.

i still think it's why trump won. he gave out a pretty sizable chunk of cash to everybody. twice! biden promised to do the same and then walked it back as soon as he got into office and scolded us like we were all grubby assholes for bringing it up.

shit like that is why the libs lost and why trump is the king of the GOP. when it's the libs turn to play santa with the money printer at xmas, they give everybody a skymall coupon for a travel toothbrush / calculator and a lecture about financial responsibility. daddy trump pushes a few grand in our hands and tells them they're wonderful human beings.

maga is grotesque and vicious, but i still remember how i felt when i saw that money hit my account. cha-fucking-ching. cash is king.

yeah like shit i need a new phone, a new car, and cool story probably a crown on a molar, with no prospects to really afford any of that, some trump bucks would really help out with that

I have the capacity to understand that they're my ideological enemies and just take the bag anyway but a lot of people will just remember the hand that feeds and so many people are so desperate for any assistance

Trump is a monster but he’s like a vivacious living monster instead of the usual boneyard ghouls so he’s willing to cut a bullshit check to look cool. He cares about his appearance. The mortal cares for his flesh. The GOP of 2012 wouldn’t cut a check. The GOP after Trump won’t cut a check.

You understand it so I’m not lecturing you here but it cannot be overstated how the libs going back to the old politics and walking back the money was a monumental self-own. It’s a forgotten but huge stumbling block for the most stumbling president of all time.

If the checks didn't get Trump over the line in 2020, it's hard for me to believe they had a big effect in 2024.

probably because you forgot biden what was saying during the 2020 general election: that he was going to cut us all another big pandemic check and forgive everyone with student loans under $50K.

two specific short term promises that exceeded trumps first term cash payments.

but, once in office, biden abandoned both while simultaneously and unilaterally funding two very public proxy wars. the 2020 campaign was a bidding war of actual cash for votes. the 2020 biden admin was 180° from all of it.

it cannot be overstated how biden wildly biden reversed course from his 2020 campaign. we and anyone who paid attention to his career all knew biden was full of shit, but he really outdid himself as prez.

the way libs acted surprised about the 2024 election is a testament to their coordinated forgetting of what happened from 2020-2024.

I didn't forget that, but I also don't recall Trump making that an issue in 2024.

We often talk about how Democratic voters don't behave like they have much of a memory. I get the argument about the feeling of cash in hand and a promise for more, I just don't think it mattered that much four years later for an electorate that seems to operate mostly in the now.
