Curious on the usage statistics.

Should I make a full survey asking about granularity so that app devs can see what to focus on?

Same here. I was sold the moment I read that the UI is based on Apollo.

Yep. Started here, and will never change because it doesn't matter.

Thunder is cross-platform, not just Android. It’s my primary app for mobile on IOS.

PieFed: Default Web UI on desktop, Interstellar on Android.

Lemmy: Default Web UI on desktop, Eternity on Android.

We need to form a Sync support group...

[–] perishthethought@piefed.social 3 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I thought that was dead?

I used the hell out of that Android app on r***** and lemmy, but the dev disappeared around the time I had to leave lemm.ee so I just use a web browser now with piefed.social. :|

It's a little broken, yes

[–] Tarquinn2049@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) (1 children)

Hehe yeah, I know it's slowly losing functionality... but I think I'm gonna ride this horse until just before it goes over a cliff. I just really like the presentation I've dialed in. I tried all the other apps and can't get anything that feels like me.

When I first came here, I grabbed every app, and put a few hours into each, and it was no contest. Sync hands down had the best UI configuration for me. There were multiple sticking points on each other app that were just deal breakers.

I have tried them all again recently, and still didn't find anything else I liked.

I haven't looked into why sync doesn't get updates anymore, hoping it's not guaranteed permanent... afraid to look.

I could have written this comment.

I don't use said client, but !syncforlemmy@lemmy.world.

EDIT: Oh, wait, you already post there.

Thunder has been fantastic for me so far

[–] tiredofsametab@fedia.io 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

What am I supposed to do for Mbin?

[–] tal@lemmy.today 1 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

"Default Web UI", I suppose. Or "Interstellar", which I understand works with it.

[–] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 17 hours ago

Eternity gang

[–] FartsWithAnAccent@fedia.io 3 points 15 hours ago

I use Mbin and Interstellar

[–] Blaze@piefed.zip 4 points 17 hours ago (3 children)

Hello,

I filled the form, but just realized I should have checked "default interface" as well, now it's too late, anyway

I just wanted to say that I still use the default interface for Piefed because as far as I know feeds aren't supported by any app/frontend yet. I'll probably switch to the first one that does

[–] olorin99@kbin.earth 1 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Interstellar also supports feeds. Under the explore tab you can browse and view them. Unfortunately there's no search yet so you have to scroll through them all to find specific ones.

But if you go to settings -> feeds you can save them for quick access. Then they'll be available in the navigation drawer on the main page.

[–] Blaze@piefed.zip 1 points 6 hours ago

Thank you !

[–] moseschrute@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

I haven’t tested the PieFed specific features as much as I should, but I think feeds are slightly different. I need to add support for feeds / topics. I’m also working on support for polls. Stay tuned

[–] Xylight 1 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Photon supports feeds! unfortunately there's not much in the API yet other than just listing and viewing them, so you can't subscribe or otherwise

[–] Blaze@piefed.zip 1 points 17 hours ago

I just checked, indeed the API at the moment only returns the public list of feeds.

@wjs018@piefed.social do you know when you'll have time to add endpoints to get a user's personal and subscribed public feeds?

[–] Blaze@piefed.zip 1 points 17 hours ago

Wait you do? I didn't know!

Ah, I see, I usually look at https://piefed.social/community/fediverse/wiki/piefed-app and front ends aren't there!

[–] andyburke@fedia.io 2 points 16 hours ago

A web browser.

[–] mesamunefire@piefed.social 2 points 16 hours ago

Firefox. On mobile piefed still looks great.

[–] Krudler@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

I've been using paid Boost for a long time but I'm ready to abandon it, just installed Voyager to take it for a spin.

Boost has just too many bugs that render it unusable, and they've been around for more than 4 months. Namely: Posts that you purposefully "Hide" or "Mark as Read" keep coming back no matter how much you fiddle with it.

I'm just exhausted with it. Every bug fix brings new mystery behavior because the dev isn't keeping up with underlying Lemmy platform changes well enough.

I'm on the Beta now and the problem described is apparently "fixed" but I'm not falling for it. This is the bug that keeps coming back like a bad penny. I also got convinced it was fixed over a year ago but nope.

[–] Zangoose@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

Is raccoon still being developed? The last commit that isn't a dependency bump was 3 months ago and the last release was 8 months ago. I'm still using it for now because I like the UI but I feel like a lot of the formatting is kind of jank

[–] bluemoon@piefed.social 1 points 14 hours ago

yes make a full survey if ya dare!

i didn't know this many existed

and hey great organizatorial undertaking! data is fun

[–] TVA@thebrainbin.org 1 points 16 hours ago

On mobile, I use Interstellar to connect to a MBin instance.
