We're coming to the end of The Patriot and looking for something easy going and engaging. Currently semi in a food coma

Adams Family Values is a perfect thanksgiving movie imo

[–] Know_not_Scotty_does@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago

Beat me to it.

I've seen the first movie a bunch, but barely remember this one.

I will have to remember it for next year! I'm Canadian, so it's way too late.

Happy cake day!

Hard to go wrong with a studio ghibli film if you're looking for easy going and engaging.

I suggest Porco Rosso.

Just not Grave of the fireflies. That's some heavy shit.

The Big Lebowski

Humanist vampire seeking consenting suicidal person. part dark comedy, part coming of age rom-com. Somewhat wholesome ending and the leads have incredible chemistry. French audio with subtitles though, at least last I checked there was no dubbed released.

Sean of the Dead or Hot Fuzz.

2 girls 1 cup is a classic of German cinema that will deepen your friendship.

[–] LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It really is a powerful and moving tale of friendship

[–] krooklochurm@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 months ago

Both of those adjectives are the ones most people would use, yes. Powerful. Moving. Sublime even.

Home for the holidays

Alice's restaurant

Paul Blart, Mall Cop. Thanksgiving setting, goofy humor, reasonably entertaining storyline. Not a “good” movie, but a fun watch around Thanksgiving! It’s an annual tradition in my family

A Biltmore Christmas if you’re ready for a holiday movie.

Or Love Hard on Netflix.

[–] golden@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 months ago

Something lighthearted like "Paddington" or "Chef" could be perfect after a big meal! It’s easy to watch and puts you in a good mood.

[–] JargonWagon@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

If you want a horror movie, then Thanksgiving or Thankskilling, the latter being intentionally so bad it's good.

[–] defaultusername@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 months ago

No, I can't. Sorry.
